Thanks for starting Gers, good morning.
20° !! I think it's going to be similar here.
I've got a routine hospital check up this morning, I'm never there long, then the day is my own.
There's a few things I want to list on the Bay of E, and I'm waiting for an e mail from one of the charities - I would like to donate a sofa bed but want to check that the fire safety tags on the mattress and cover are acceptable before I go any further. I emailed photos of the tags to them, so I'm hoping that they're ok.
Apart from that there's just the usual jobs, and the quiz tonight.
Hope everyone else has an ok day.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Dry and bright this morning with the promise of 20 degrees too! Washing on the line and the greenhouse opened, the poor little plants would fry if it was closed!
Busy work day yesterday but it was payday so not all bad. I called at the SM on my way home to stock up and put everything away - the fridge is looking a lot healthier!
Shame about your sofa Rosy.
Loving your garden Ruby, hope you can use it lots this year.
Good Luck with the bathroom refit Chrisca - my worst nightmare!
Hope the training went well Coxy.
As if you haven't enough going on with the little one dp1 you then have your Mum and Dad to worry about - hope Mum has listened to you. 2 weeks to wait for an appointment is a long time if you're in pain.
Hope the weather holds for your trip to the 'van TA.
Our P7s are going on their residential trip today, fingers crossed I've arranged everything! They seem to have dropped lucky with the weather and should have a fabulous time.
Hope you're all well, hugs to those struggling. Take care. XX13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. The sun has his hat on here too with temps up to 23 deg forecast! Hope they are right as yesterday was a letdown, the sun never got out all day.
All being well I am meeting DF for lunch as she wants something to take her mind off tomorrow's call from DS updating them on his appointment with the Consultant for his results. She already knows it won't be good news but it will be worse news to hear the C has spread.
I haven't given a thought to packing what's needed for my caravan jaunt later in the week but, according to the forecast, the heatwave isn't going to last. Does it ever! So the usual mix of clothes will be getting packed. I'll make a start on that before I go out I think.
Take care all, ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. xx

Since my first post I've stripped my bed, put on new linen, had a lovely shower (been more than 10 days because of my wound) and got the WM whirring away. So far, so good. In other good news my blocked right ear has resolved itself. I couldn't pop it as normal as it was oil rather than water, too viscous to pop, I had to wait for it to be absorbed. On Sunday night I couldn't hear out of and last night I could.Yes, 20° seems too good to hope for. I'm not wholly convinced by the forecast. Never am.This morning I'm invigilating, according to the schedule it's Higher Geography, I won't spend too long reading the two papers. My suspicion is that I will have a student with additional needs so will be out longer than normal. I've got a book and an audio one too. Once home I'll hang out the wet washing to catch the best of the rays.I hope that everyone has a good day, parents, grandchildren, hospital visits, gardening, painting and general housework notwithstanding. Hugs to all.

Morning all@Snoozer thanks for the heads up re J D Kirk. I can definitely see me working my way through his Logan books. Was sitting out in the garden in the lovely sun yesterday reading the first one while Mr Bathroom Man was upstairs doing his bit. My DS recommended him and so far he's been very good. At least he's leaving the toilet and basin re-fit until last so we'll have them for nocturnal visists instead of having to go downstairs!Had a message from DGD yesterday asking me not to let my son see any pics of the new baby as her and her sister have reached out to him for the last 6 months with no reply. This isn't true so will distance myself from them now. Am so angry at these lies but will bite my tongue.DH has a hospital visit today to see whether he can have the catheter removed or more investigations. His PSA count has risen he's been told and his prostate has definitely become more enlarged so we'll see what they decide to do next. Parking there is a nightmare and the letter said he'll be there for a few hours so as it's about a 15 minute drive I'll drop him off, come home and pick him up after his appointment.Have a good day all x16

Good morning
A bright start and temperatures of 23 degrees are forecast. All the windows were open yesterday to let the fresh air blow through. I think today I'll wash the sofa throw and cushion covers that'll be enough excitement for one day.
Chrisca, you're right to distance yourself from whatever games your dgd is playing. Families eh? Hope all goes well for OH at his appointment.
No idea what's for tea, I really struggle in the summer with meals, I find it much easier in winter, always a stew or casserole to fall back on.
Have a good day all, hugs to anyone who needs them. Take care.

Good morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x Pleased that your ear issue has resolved itself. I have a bit of dullness in my left ear, so need to get that checked. I also need an eyesight test so may well do the two together at $pecsavers.
Non-work day for me but DH is still learning the ropes at the yard so has just left. He took DD's little car so I have wheels! I'm going to the community allotment early doors and then have a bit of life admin to do including paying in charity money collected on our hike. It's good weather here too so I'll do a bit in our garden too this afternoon.
I feel for you @Chrisca50 - family issues are never easy x Hope DH gets on okay at his appointment.
Hope you do get to see your friend @TravellingAbuela - she must be so worried x
Have a good day everyone

Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers
Had the annual Intruder Alarm service yesterday, turned up late and was only here 15 minutes, changed the battery, extra cost, but should be good for another year.
Our forecast is 15 degrees today. Enjoying the warm weather but watering the garden can be a chore.
Take care

Hi all
Another invigilating day at college. @Gers I think I should swop to your school - there’s no way we are allowed to read or listen to books, regardless of how many students, and the regulations forbid reading the exam paper either.Tried to do some gardening when I got back yesterday but got too warm.I’ll carry on with campervan curtain making (I don’t like the ones provided so Thistle is getting some tartan).Best wishes to all especially those with medical worries for them or others
