Which of these banks clear cheques the next working day?

I need the funds from this cheque ASAP but it's over £5000 so can't benefit from image deposit via an app. I know Nationwide can clear a cheque paid in over the counter the next working day, but I have current accounts with Bank of Scotland (via a Halifax branch), Lloyds, TSB and Co-op. I would have to travel to reach branches of the last two today though.
Thanks

I'd use Lloyds, they let you pay in cheques up to £10,000 with the app. I paid a cheque in with the Halifax app and it cleared the next day, I'd imagine that Lloyds would be the same as Lloyds and Halifax are essentially the same just with different branding.

The single cheque limit at Lloyds via the app pay-in is £10,000

EDIT : not surprisingly, ditto at Halifax & BoS.

Is there a cut-off time before which an app deposited cheque can be cleared the same day?

I still have Bank of Scotland current accounts as a legacy from when they paid high interest, so would I be able to pay in £20,000 split between two (I'm trying to get over £30,000 out of Santander because they won't let me do a transfer for even £25,000 to a new payee. I've only just got internet access restored after months but found that they have removed all my payees from every account).

    Paying in £20k+? By cheque?

Think maybe I'd travel a bit to a branch of something or other just to make sure.

Even if the cheque isn't physically sent to Santander then it could still get misplaced in the branch before processing, Shirley? I don't see how it could be done more safely or more proficiently in-branch.

True, but at least I'd have a counter receipt in my hands (and my face on the CCTV).

I'm biased, I've got a branch of pretty much everything within a mile or so. Your journey may be more problematic.

I paid a cheque in using the Lloyds app yesterday (Sun 28th) around about the time that you were typing your post.

If my experience is representative, and if you'd done the same, your cheque would've been cleared by now.
