    Given the tax issue, it's worth keeping an eye on low coupon nominal gilts. Yields are not great at the moment - they have reduced in the last month or so - but TG27 maturing in July 2027 currently yields 3.67% gross or 3.42% after basic rate tax.If this is all Chinese to you (other oriental languages are available) it would be worth learning about them.
