Morning all, seems bright enough but the forecast seems cloudy. Our drive up to N. Cumbria with DGS yesterday morning was shrouded in mist then cloud once we got near Shap and didn't go. I still had my big coat on watching the boys play their football. It was quite a long day for him, I think he could easily have fallen asleep on the way home! We didn't use the bbq meat, maybe later if it warms up.Not sure if I said last week but the new sofa we ordered has been removed from the company's web site due to manufacturing flaws, refund issued. Another ordered from somewhere else but it won't arrive until after our hols. Shame , we really liked the original best.Right better get some washing on, have good days all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all. Bright and sunny here so far.
Had a lovely day dancing and playing in a friend's garden yesterday. There were 6 dancers and 2 musicians and we sorted out a few problems with dances and just had a general natter in the sunshine.
Today I need to do a bit of ironing plus make some flapjack for an event tomorrow. DH has a blood test but, other than that, not much on the cards. Trying a new chicken curry recipe tonight.
Hope everyone's day goes well.11 -
Mornign all! Sunny! I love saying that although everything probably needs more water than it's got so far.I's been a quite dry winter. I'll get the wallpaper steamer out in a bit, OH has stripped all the top painted layer of wallpaper off in one half of the living room so I'll do what's left. Giving his mum a lift somewhere in a bit and then I suspect i will potter in the garden and make some sweet chilli tuna fishcakes, or just tuna fishcakes if I'm eating them and not the OH. He's on lates and doesn't tend to eat when he gets home.Ruby, lovely garden/water trough, that's really great and I am envious
snoozer, well done on reamining calm. Izzy, not just you, we're all klutzes at some point, me regularly btw...Scarlet, good that he's coping with it at the moment, yeah, the tiredness is best to give in to and not try to be all super tough. TA, the one I spent 10 on last year is still going strong but the spouts are a pain to get right, they either don't do enough or spit it out over the side. { I don't spend much because the fox inevitably bites through the cable at some point] Coxy, I see your creaky and raise you a creaky with added plant scratches :)Take care all, hope you have sun

Thanks for the start @Gers and a good morning to all. The weather forecast for today is sun, light winds and temperatures of up to 21 deg although it's still a bit hazy at the moment. I can't believe we're at the end of April already, the year seems to be running away with itself.
Yesterday wasn't a completely lazy day; my washing dried in record time, I did a little bit of ironing - pillowcases, they're about the only things I do iron - and sent off a grocery delivery order for Wednesday. I had to revise my list several times, thanks to looking for alternatives for certain things that are out of stock and to keep down the cost that seems to get more eye-watering every month. As to what actually comes remains to be seen! I slept well last night apart from being woken at around 2 am by the loud screams of a fox which can be a bit unnerving in the dead of night if you don't know what it is. Maybe there's more than one male in the area.
My aching knees have recovered so today I'll be carrying on with the dreaded decorating prep. The plan is for DS to paint the ceiling and woodwork next weekend while his good lady is working, although they will have the BH Monday together. I'll probably treat them to a meal out by way of thanks. First though I'll be emptying (and cleaning) a small space between the kitchen worktop and the wall for access to the stopc*ck so the plumber can fix my dripping hot water tap tomorrow. Tea tonight is chilli and rice from the freezer with a helping of broad beans on the side, strawberries for afters.
Lovely garden @Ruby, fingers crossed the replacement solar fountain will be all you want it to be.
I hope your day goes better than yesterday @Gers, a combination of a power cut and not so nice weather isn't a good one. I'm willing the good weather to reach your part of the world.
@Chrisca - Happy new bathroom. When we had ours done a few years ago my biggest worry was being without a toilet but the fitters were very quick taking out the old one and putting a new one in.
@TA - I hope you're feeling a bit brighter today, don't want it to spoil your caravan trip later this week.
@Coxy - No, you probably won't get much work done today. One to ones and training always seem to take forever, especially if you've got other things you need to be getting on with.
Shame about the sofa @Rosy, but ending up with a faulty one wouldn't have been good.
Right, can't put it off any longer, must get on with the day. Take care all, have a good day. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning everyone
Envious of you all with nice weather - we still have a cold wind, but apparently we'll improve tomorrow - I hope so.
I'm expecting the shed man today, but no idea what time.
I don't know whether little one will make it to school today, she was so upset last night - she's scared she collapses outside and no one sees her. DD has sent an email asking that all the teachers are told what has been happening and what they have to do if she collapses and that the children are asked to keep an eye on her and that they have to run get a teacher if necessary.
I feel sorry for the staff, it's all they need on a Monday morning! So she'll wait until she gets an email back, then hopefully will take her round.
I've had to be cross with mam this morning. DD and little one called at their house yesterday and she'd left dad alone to go to the shop. I don't know how many times I've explained to her that if she goes out and falls no-one knows he's by himself. She does have two half hours every day when she could pop out when a carer is there and then two three hours - trouble is she likes to chat with the carers!
Right, better get on with some jobs. I'm back to work this morning, I'll get the bus down after 11.
Oh I forgot to say I tried to get an appointment with a doctor when I got home from Marrakech - I got a physio appointment for two weeks time. When I sent another e consult saying I'd appreciate seeing someone sooner than that , I got a rather sarcastic reply from a doctor, basically saying 2 weeks wasn't long and they were sure I could put up with it!
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Hi everyone,
dp1, I hope the school can help, I don't wonder little one is worried.
Scarlet, Steve used to get really tired as well on his treatment although he didn't have to have radiotherapy, just chemo plus immunotherapy. It's six years now since he finished chemo.
TA they don't really take us for granted, they know how much we do for them. The problem is that they are both inundated with work and childcare that they just leave things for the cleaning fairy!
I'm taking it easy until school pick up time today though.
Have a good day.

Hello all, yesterday I washed our bedroom curtains and rehung them plus we cleaned the windows and wiped down the frames outside. I started to get the 'van seating and cushions ready as we hope to start refilling the van this week then I realised that our 'van curtains hadn't been washed ! They are now washed and hanging on the line.
We were out for an early blood test at the hospital for Mr Fix It this morning, afterwards we went for a much needed coffee at the garden centre and I might have inadvertently ordered a custard slice each too ! We then called into the caravan centre next door for some metal poles. I managed to get a few errands done on the way home and collected a new cardboard waste bag and kitchen waste caddy from the tip, posted a letter at the PO and I made another appointment at my surgery for yet another blood test. Surprisingly I have one for tomorrow morning, you usually have to wait for one for at least 2 weeks. This afternoon I will be messing about in the garden or sitting with my book !
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need and I'm sending some sunshine to those who don't have any yet.

Afternoon all - I'm glad to report that the day has turned out to be lovely, not too sunny as there are plenty of white clouds covering up most of the rays, still, it's so much better than over the weekend.I had a chore to do this morning before my exercise class so I left home early. My friend removed the final dressing on my back and all seems well there. Certainly, I returned to my usual dumbbell and resistance band weights without a problem. Lunch was soup and a sandwich, there is left over Chinese takeaway in the fridge which I've been ignoring. It was a moment of weakness to buy it yesterday, I'm a slave to my emotions and having no power for hours wracked up stuff.@Chrisca - think it might have been me who mentioned JD Kirk, though I'm sure someone did too. I'm glad that you're enjoying his books. I've lined up one on my phone for listening to when invigilating.I hope that everyone is enjoying a fine day though painting and washing may interrupt the pleasure.10

It was me with J D Kirk, I was warning dp1 about the language of she put the audio on for her dad.
We're currently listening to Slow Horses after binging the TV series. It took a bit to get into, more because of the narrator I think.3
