Interactive Investor - calculation of 25% tax free cash when holding Index Linked Gilts

Nice work Lowtrawler - the only sensible outcome. However II's behaviour leaves a sour taste as described by SnowMan above. The PO don't come out well either. They claimed that II will carry out manual calculations, when in reality II only said they can. That's a material difference that has been glossed over.In effect, II have given themselves a free pass and the PO let them get away with it. I have little confidence that II will actually perform these manual calculations unless they are prodded every time.II would do well to reflect on the FCA's Conduct Rules in particular:
Rule 4: You must pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly.
Rule 6: You must act to deliver good outcomes for retail customers.4 -
Hi Nebulous, I myself have found the opposite to be true with CSD. I recently transferred linkers to them, and CSD marked them at the clean price, approximately half the true valuation. I’m pretty livid about such a basic error. Got any advice? Have you had any similar issues with them since your post above?Nebulous2 said:I'm new to this - and may not know what I'm doing, but Charles Stanley gives me the dirty price. Different columns state; tax cost, market value, change in value, bid.
The market value is equivalent to the number I have times the bid price. The tax cost shows what I paid.

How are you viewing them? I think they have an app, but I have never used it.
I log in on a browser, from the home screen I click on 'my holdings' then portfolio, and get that view you have quoted above. It hasn't changed for me, and the 'buy' price is still very close to the dirty price quoted here.

Why would you be livid at them showing the clean price? That's what most brokers do. It only matters how they value them when you are taking your tax free cash. It may give you a little extra work to understand the true value of your portfolio by adjusting them to the Dirty price but that's no more than a mild inconvenience.peterpan11 said:

Yes, this is the case with HL too. It's slightly disconcerting when you buy them and see an immediate huge loss, but the helpful people on this forum had warned me to expect this, so a heart attack was avoided!0
