What adhesive for elastic to plastic

I’d like to stick/glue some old style goggles to my open face crash helmet i wear on holiday.  They have a black elasticated strap (similar to the band of elastic you’d sew into the waist of a pair of elasticated waist trousers) .
the helmet itself is (I guess) a type of hard plastic, smooth and matte finish.

probably not superglue as I’d imagine it would need a bit of give/flexibility due to the elastic stretching or expanding a little.

what adhesive would work best please?  Just want to stick them in place to stop them falling off, I won’t be pulling them down to wear.

Please do not use any kind of glue on a crash helmet. It could seriously weaken the helmet.

Assuming this isn't just a bit of costume for LARP or similar, but an actual protective helmet, you really shouldn't go gluing anything to it.

(If it is LARP, I'd suggest hot melt glue.)
