Moorside Legal Letter of Claim, Ocean Parking/Anchor Security Services

Options
Thanks for all of the advice here.

I've received a Letter Of Claim from Moorside Legal (dated 09/04/25).
I first received a PCN from ocean parking on 25/09/24 and then a load of letters from them, Trace and Moorside all of which i've ignored as per the info on the newbies thread.

Now I'm a little confused on the next steps despite reading all the advice, so 2 questions:
1. Is now the time to send a response to Moorside (if so is the draft below correct?)
2. If yes, where do I send this email? There's no email address anywhere on any of their letters or their website

Draft response, I think?:
"Ref. ############
Proposed Legal Proceedings
Claimant: Anchor Security Services Limited

I refer to your your letter of claim.

I confirm that my address for service for the time being is as follows, and any older address must be erased from your records:
-MY ADDRESS-

The alleged debt is disputed and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.

I am sourcing and seeking independent debt advice and as such, I formally request that this matter be put on hold for an additional 30 days, in accordance with the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims 2017 ('the PAP').

I note that the amount being claimed has increased by a hugely exaggerated amount which the Government called "extorting money from motorists".

Don't send me your usual response about that.
I have two questions, and under the PAP I am entitled to specific answers:

1. Am I to understand that the additional £70 represents what you say is a 'Debt Recovery' fee, and if so, is this nett or inclusive of VAT? If the latter, would you kindly explain why I am being asked to pay the operator’s VAT?

2. With regard to the principal alleged PCN sum: Is this damages, or will it be pleaded as consideration for parking?

Yours faithfully"

Thanks in advance

    1)  yes,  email the response to Moorside Legal before the 30 day deadline

    2) its in other Moorside Legal threads on here,  study a few for the email address

IMHO,  legislation should make I mandatory to put email contacts on their official letters

The response from Moorside is a template response and has been posted numerous times on here

Once received,  a court claim will follow after a month or two

That's already in the NEWBIES thread you got this LBC reply from.

Please read it, as it is there as a vital resource to inform new posters and to stop us regulars getting tied up answering questions about bog standard 'next steps'.

You'll be grateful we don't waste time on 'something &  nothing' stages, when you really need us!

Hi, I've sent a standard email in response to the Letter of Claim from Moorside Legal. I received their reply today, they've provided a generic explanation about the £70 charge, claimed breach of contract, and attached some photos of the alleged contravention. They also said I don’t need to see the landowner contract.

Can someone please advise what my next step should be?
Do I just wait and see if they issue a court claim, or is there anything else I should do now. Thanks in advance for any help!

Do you see from this why I begged you in capital letters not to show their reply?

I meant we really don't need to know...!

See you at the next stage that you already know about from the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread. Or from reading any Moorside claim threads.

You'll be glad that we don't get bogged down by well discussed 'nothing' stages like this, when you need us later on.
