I bought 2 plants of a variety I hadn't heard of but they were sturdy enough.

Almost at once something that looked like a leaf miner affected the two proper leaves.
I checked regularly but couldn't see anything.
Growing apace it is making a real dogs breakfast of the next leaves. Still nothing visible crawler wise,
Stood on wooden bench.
It's not water bleaching

It’s difficult to see from the pics whether it is a leaf miner, but it looks like it could be cold damage possibly sustained before you bought them, but having said that it also looks a little like tomato blight, although it’s a bit early in the season.
You can safely remove the affected leaves and dispose of them away from any other plants.  If the stem looks affected you can cut back to a side shot.

Might be a bit of frost damage, but I wouldn't worry too much, some of mine were like that last year to start with. Maybe a bit more coddling is needed. As long as the rest of them are green, they'll be ok I think.

Thanks, I'm down south so no frost.
Not enough leaves to take any off.
Perhaps I should spray them and _ they do face sunrise, could be scorching but I wouldn't think it was bright enough.

It doesn't need to be actual frost - overnight temperatures of less than 10 degrees C could have caused this.  If you can't bring the plants indoors, try covering them with fleece overnight.

Hiya, this doesn't look like leafminers or anything similarly insectivorous, it looks more like 'environmentally-influenced' tissue damage to the leaves. This could be from moisture, light, heat, cold, etc... difficult to tell from the pic. Best plan is to keep them in a good space and not touching any glass etc., don't water onto the leaves, and try and keep control of the humidity so they don't get too damp or dry. Keeping different plants is a learning curve even when you've done it before. Best of luck!

Well I've moved them and snipped off the affected leaves, moved them where dew and morning sun don't go and so far so good.
Very deep green leaves and really need putting in the ground but other stuff is not out yet and we have high temperatures and dry so we'll see.
    Thanks for the help 🙂
