Morning all from a damp and dreary mehefinland
Been following but not posting this week, so time for a catchup.
Spent a lot of time potting on seedlings for the library plant sale - 190 Marigolds, 140+ Cosmos 90+ Giant pansy, 20 Honesty, 120 Helichrysum plus various other bits and bobs. Got sunflowers coming up everywhere and that's only half of the stuff so far. Also planted out some Dahlia in the front garden ( gave them a good soak first). Got hanging baskets to finish off too. ( some lovely pelargonium and fuschia from Ldl the other week which were reasonably priced and have grown on well).
Tried some new to me stuff too, which has not been a resounding success - Silenes and Cleome. Think they have gone to the Ozzie cousin.
A load of poo delivered to the allotments, and some folding tables collected on the return trip. S'ok the poo is in bags before your hold your noses. Loads of council handover stuff with the new, and very enthusiastic, clerk.
Usual horsey stuff
Oh and 2 bags of Dawn's stuff to the charity shop. Returned the clothes rail to the chap I borrowed it from too.
And breathe....
@TravellingAbuela Get those cataracts done - you will never look back. I had a wuss mode too before mine were done, but by gum, the difference is amazing and well worth it. I would heartily recommend having them done to anyone.
Might just finish painting the kitchen ceiling today as its yuk outside currently - it was far too nice to be inside in the week.
Have a good weekend all, and hope the poodles are recovering
Hugs and spoons as always

@TravellingAbuela When I was due to have my cataracts done I got alot of support on here as I was very nervous about it too. Apart from having to lay very still for a long time it wasn't painful or half as bad as I was anticipating. Go for it x8

Morning all
Bright and sunny here and looks to be a good day I have just put a towel load on the line and have got the bedding in the wm which will be hung out after.
Housework to do this morning and then out into the garden to pot up some more plants which I love doing and is a peaceful time for me, I will see where I am after this lot are planted and then maybe have to get a few more 👀
We are planning a bbq for dinner but will see if it’s warm enough to eat outside if not we can eat in the conservatory, I will make up a few salads later as well.
Snoozer we have wooden floors throughout the house apart from the stairs and landing which have a natural sisal carpet and the kitchen which has Laminate tiles, the rest of the house is solid oak flooring, it’s a bit expensive for the initial outlay but it will see both of us out, it’s also much easier to keep clean, I don’t think I would ever go back to carpet. Also I’m afraid I would be having words with the grown up family members that’s just not on!
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Hello all, hope you're having a good day. My day yesterday turned out a bit strange starting with the sm delivery driver leaving 2 bags of someone's freezer foods along with ours. We had to call the shop to redirect the driver to pick it up asap as unfortunately I had no room in my freezers to accommodate that much as I had Dad's in there too. Thankfully the driver came tout suite with a big apology for the inconvenience and many thanks for our honesty.
Later we went to Dad's and I put away his shopping then I sorted out his meds cupboard because he's not taking them as he should and hoarding again🙄. He's hoarding food too and I found a few cupboard items which I disposed of including an opened bottle of sauce dated BBF 2005 which he wanted to use 🤮
Today I have been looking for a new carpet cleaner which also does stairs but there are so many to choose from. I'll make a chicken stir fry for tea today using up some pre cooked chicken which I had in the freezer.
Take care all
nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
Oh, @Snoozer - it's so awful that the other adults aren't being more considerate of your home. Perhaps some words need spoken. I remember our old friend Tru who had almost the same with her adult children and downed tools for a while, refusing to clear up behind others. I seem to recall that it was effective. It's soup weather here! The rain gods must really hate this area as it falls without a stop. I've filled, turned on and emptied the DW. I've taken a bag of rubbish to the tip along with the broken electric throw and a bag of hearing aid batteries. Drove off without remembering to throw away the plastic kitchen bowl, it's still resting on the back seat.My right ear is blocked again. I tried to put some Earoil in this morning and now I can't hear much through it, it's like water is in it. I went online to book another ear suction appointment to see if that helps again. Meanwhile, I need to lie on my right side for a while.Last week I emailed the head physio at my local hospital to ask if she could nudge the orthopaedic surgeon about my referral from last August. She didn't reply, however today an appointment letter for May arrived in the post. Result!@WL - take care of your back, you're brave to do some dancing when it hurts. Same @YL with sore knees. Well done @Izzy with your CS ultra-bargain. And well done to you too @TA - my late DM hated even putting in eye drops and then managed to have both her cataracts cleared. I suspect that the thought of it is much worse than the reality.I need a hot drink now.9

Morning all ,
it was my pre op yesterday and it went ok ,angiogram next Thursday .
Im not easily frightened ,but the list of possible problems ‘fair frit me ‘ as an old friend used to say!
Then they finished off by saying I might be admitted and transferred to the v famous heart hospital who did my stent 3 yrs ago and then started talking about bypasses!
only then did they say hopefully just mean a change of drugs,!
I know they have to go through all the risks etc but honestly!
and I’m missing my wine group 🤣🤣
Another fan of cataract surgery here ,think it’s the thought ,but the results are pretty much instant so please go for it .
Been out for my Saturday coffee this morning ,trying to stir myself now
new lawn mower being delivered later so grass cutting tomorrow if I haven’t killed summer!
stay safe all10 -
@snoozer - We went with wood floors but it was mainly because of the cats. Too much fluff to be vacuuming all of the time. We need to put in new wood floors as mine are worn out. A project for someday in the future or the next owner of the house.3
