Morning all, thanks for starting us off @Scarlet It's very grey and cloudy here, no promise of anything better in the forecast.Getting the stitches out was fine, no pulling though my back is still a tad sore and tender. The lovely nurse said I now have eight little new wounds where the stitches were, she called them holes! When I came back I tried a new recipe - a JO chicken tray bake with sweetheart cabbage, fiery gochujang paste with noodles. It's very tasty if a touch too much for me. I had to add some Greek yogurt over the top to bring the heat down a bit. 😀
No plans for today yet. Hugs to all.9 -
Now back - it's a grey start here and quite cold, as was yesterday.
Quite disappointing for the end of April, these chilly breezes.
Dp1 glad you enjoyed your holiday, but sorry to read that dgd is still having problems. Hope it can be sorted out.
SuffolkSue, hope your angiogram goes according to plan.
Gers, I'm pleased to read that your stitches are starting to heal.
Not much happening today. A friend visited last night, and she told me that she is hoping to move to be nearer her family in Cumbria/ Scottish borders area. I'll be very sorry to see her go, but of course she has to do what's best for herself.
I should get outside today and tidy some plants up, do a bit of repotting of plants that are now shooting away in their containers after their long winter sleep.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can today, take care folks.

Morning all, thanks Gers.Shame about your friend possibly moving away Scarlet but you can still keep in touch. My oldest friend moved away for uni back in the 70's and never came here again apart from visits but we always kept in touch. When she retired she and her husband moved back this side of the Pennines & we see each other once a month or so & phoneOff to DGS footie shortly. DS said last night that DGD and her friend who was staying over wanted to come & watch too but she's proving difficult to wake for the early start- DS is one of the coaches so needs to be there earlier. We'll prob pop in and see her on the way back.DH went to the butchersyesterday and optimistically bought stuff for a bbq!Hope all is well with everyone
, will read back once we get home.

Morning thanks for starting us Scarlet
A grey start here also, and a tad chilly. Today we're off into town to pick up a couple of things for Mr ND, hubby is happy any excuse to look around. I'll have a look around Morries, which i don't get to often. Theres nothing we need, TA, I'm a food hoarder also. Then I'll pop to Lids to pick up my free jar of mayonnaise.
That's most of today sorted. Last night we had fish, chips and peas from the freezer, so tonight will be the sausages.
Have a good day everyone, and hugs to all who need them. Take care.8 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, sorry to hear your friend may be moving away but I'm sure you can stay in touch.
Pleased to hear you enjoyed your holiday dp1, hope the knee is ok and the little one improves.
Glad your stitches came out ok Gers. Your vending machine sounds to be a big hit.
Hope your procedure goes well SuffolkSue.
Been busy at work the last few days and I have had what I think was a migraine, brought on by sitting facing the sun whilst visiting a friend on Tuesday evening. Feeling better now but it will teach me a lesson, should have gone out to the car for some sunglasses!
It's raining this morning but I have plants to put in at the allotment so will get a raincoat and get on with it - I'll not shrink!
Just got in yesterday to get the washing in before it rained but there won't be any done today.
Have a good weekend. Take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It's grey here too and not promised to improve much as the day goes on. But I hear we are all forecast a heatwave in the coming week. That'll do nicely!
The Optician appointment yesterday went as well as it could for someone with a fear of anything eye connected! She confirmed the cataracts have got worse since my last test but I knew that myself. I agreed to a referral as if I didn't my glasses would soon be of the jam jar bottom variety!! She said the waiting lists vary from hospital to hospital so I requested the one with the shortest list then I didn't have long to worry about it. I'm a wimp!
A pottering day here. Another plant (a Gardenia) was delivered yesterday along with some pink Agapanthus bulbs. So they will get potted up at some point today. I hope the bulbs grow as nice as the blue Agapanthus I was given last year.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Welcome back Dp1, pleased you enjoyed your holiday but sorry to hear DGD has been having more problems. Such a worry for you all. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet we have a grey chilly DP1 I’m pleased you had a good holiday what a shame about your knee but good that you got the chance to rest it a bit in the sunshine I hope little one has had a good night and doesn’t have you up to early . Gers hope you are not as sore today . I got a bargain at the charity shop yesterday when things come in they have a date put on them and after a few weeks if they haven’t sold they might get moved to another branch or reduced when I walked in yesterday the manager was putting a fleece fully lined jacket on the 50 Pence rail fit perfectly and looks like it’s never been worn . I need to go and get a bit of shopping and I have some housework to get on with haven’t got a clue what we are having to eat today I will have a look in the freezer soon I might make a couple of quiches I have some odds and sods to use up . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all. Looks like the start of a sunny week here.
@TA I don't have much luck with agapanthus but your pink ones sound lovely. My mum always grew them in a tub but mine always look too spindly.
My back is still sore here but I'm booked to play for one of my morris sides at a golf club open day this afternoon so will have to go to that. Have taken some paracetamol and will hope to sit down for a while once I'm there. I made a large chilli yesterday so we can finish that today when I get back.
Hope everyone else is ok and looking forward to a brighter weekend.8 -
Morning all and thanks @Scarlet for the start. It's looking a bit dull out there this morning with not much chance of seeing the sun today, but it should be dry - what I call a "nothing" day. Starting tomorrow we're promised a fine week with higher temperatures - I'll need to dig out some summer clothes!
Yesterday I finished washing down the third wall but I'm afraid the last one will have to wait - much as I want to get on with it, I'm having a day off. My poor old knees are protesting from the unaccustomed up and down the stepladder.
Plans for today are to go out for a walk for some fresh air, make a batch of scones and sort through the sideboard contents for keep/dispose as the case may be. There's also a cardigan that I've knitted and is waiting in the wings for sewing up - it's been a "tuit" for far too long. Easy tea tonight with soup from the freezer, a sandwich and an ice cream cone. Such is my excitement for the day!
Take care all, enjoy your weekend and look forward to the sunshine when it arrives. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Hi everyone, I've not been posting recently, mainly because I've not been going online until late for one reason and another. I've been managing to keep up with the news so I have been thinking about those with problems or illnesses. Life is busy as ever, I seem to spend my life tidying only for it to become chaotic as soon as any of the family spend ten minutes in a room - and I am not exempting the parents from that observation, they seem incapable of putting anything away. Sorry, I'm feeling a bit grumpy today after getting up to find every inch of the worktop which was pristine last night covered in food, food waste and other rubbish. I am trying to dwell on the positive aspects of them moving out and reclaiming a tidy kitchen will certainly be top of the list. I've also been planning colour schemes for redecorating and refurbishing and trying to decide whether to replace the carpet in the living room with wood flooring, has anyone got any opinions either way? Today I shall be trying out the breadmaker I bought yesterday. We're pretty good at eating fresh food without too many upfs but bread is one area that we could improve on so I thought I'd give it a try but I don't think I've got the time to make traditional loaves at the moment. Fingers crossed it works ok. Have a good day.10
