Energy Cap Fall prediction

I have just switched energy provide to Outfox the Market and fixed for 2 years. I am still in the cooling off period. I just read today that "Cornwall Insight predicts the UK government’s cap on energy bills will fall by 9% from July". Should I continue with the switch or will this news result in cheaper fixes? Maybe they already took it into account for the fix? Would be grateful to hear from anyone who understands how this works!

In normal times the price generally goes down for the warm season quarters and rises in the cold quarters, so if you are happy with the price you've got then stick with it.

However, with Trump's antics, who knows what will happen. If he causes a worldwide recession, then, in theory at least, p[rices may fall with demand. But WW3 might have other effects.
  • Thank you. I also messaged Outfox and they said I could change to a different fixed tariff without exit fees if tariffs come down, so that sounds reasonable.
