Section 20 request out of the blue

I just wanted to say a big thank you to this forum. I used previous comments and responses from a number of people to aid me in my dilemma and most importantly, someone advised having a phonecall with the Leasehold Advisory Service about Section 20's and how to challenge them.

Foloowing their advice I was able to sucessfully challenge mine and will only have to pay £250 instead of £15k.  Their verbal advice and website was full of lots of help and helped to achieve a favourable outcome.

If I could leave a few pointers for anyone else who happens to find themselves in the same situation -

Keep all documention.
Attend all meetings.
Attend to view all plans that are made available to the public. Keeps copies of everything.
Keep a diary of events (my S20 process took nearly 4 years in total). Dates, times, names.
Keep a record of all calls, discussions, complaints that you make.
Read up on Section 20's via The Leasehold Advisory Service website.

Mine was resolved by a lot of little things adding up to alot so record keeping was key and most of all know the Section 20 process inside out. It may seem daunting at the beginning but ultimately keep your records and know your rights.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me MoneySave
