Yes sorry, I haven't received a p800 tax code change or anything, it just shows the same amount of savings for both years, which I know isn’t true. With it being August should this not be showing or changed by now.
    What is "it"?

The overall total reported on the online tax account, I imagine. It is a bad system to only report an overall total and require the taxpayer to phone in to have a breakdown sent through the post (which has recently been given permission to get even slower than it already is, unless HMRC pay the extra to send it first class.) Phone line capacity shouldn’t have to be used for a simple administrative matter, unless the taxpayer chooses not to have a computer/tablet/smartphone.

Hi guys can anybody help, I have a savings account and it is showing on the tax years 2022-23 and 2023-24 the same figure under savings interest. I am paye and a basic tax payer and the figure that I have for 2023-24 is higher than the amount showing, it’s now obviously the end of July 2025 and there has been no update. Does anyone have any information on this please.
Are you sure you have the tax years correct?
    23/24 is long gone.
If you mean 24/25, then your account could well not be updated yet, it can take some months from the end of the tax year - 5th April 2025.

If you do mean the problem is with 23/24, then seems probably that HMRC have been sent wrong info from the savings provider and/or made a mistake themselves.

Hi yes 2023-24 is still showing the same as 2022-23. There has been. No update nothing. The summery went on December 2024. 24-25 not showing yet. I am paye so don’t do self assessment. I’m wondering if anyone else was experiencing anything similar.

If she has online access to her Personal Tax Account couldn't she update her interest figures online?  I don't know if it is too late to do that for 23/4 but if she only has the one account it should be straightforward.

I agree that you can spend an inordinate amount of time on the phone to HMRC on things like this.  Most of it listening to an automated voice telling you how much information you can get from Gov.uk if only you would hang up (as if anyone would be calling if Gov.uk gave you the information you needed).

    It’s August already?
Anyway I got my P800 for FY24 initially in June 24 , amended in October so you should have received something.
I haven’t had anything for tax year just gone mind.

I think there were posts on the Cutting Tax board suggesting P800s were taking a lot longer to appear last year than normal.  Mine appeared in November 24.

Things seem to have started earlier this year.

And of course, it could happen to you as it happened to me that after spending 45 minutes on the phone and getting through to someone that that person was working from home and couldn't print off the lists and suggested that I ring again in the hope that I got someone else who had access to a printer!  I pointed out that I might ring again and get through to him.

Last years print outs were better than the previous years inasmuch as they only included actuals and NOT estimates, but they still got that wrong and I had to phone them to get it sorted.

It's even happened that the agreed end of FY print out figures supplied by HMRC then do NOT agree with their P800.

I can't understand why this information is NOT available through the Gov Gateway, perhaps because there would be so many queries that the system couldn't cope.

Absolutely ridiculous that they allow people to work from home who do not have a printer, as they clearly can't do all of the tasks that they would usually be expected to do. And if their working from home was necessary for a health reason, they should have been supplied with the means of passing the call directly to someone who does have a printer.
