My water butts would need to be approximately 14 metres away from the down pipe. Is this possible and how would I do it please?

well you could if you had a very long hose from the downpipe - you would also need to fix the hose in place so it was at the same level as the water butt / outlet and had dip at some point to ensure that the downpipe by-passes when the butt us full (if you don't want the water just overflowing)

There is some info here that might help https://www.save-rainwater.co.uk/pages/connect-multiple-waterbutts

looks like they have a slightly different system

Whilst you can get water butt connectors for downpipes, one would need to be mounted at head height to get a decent fall over 14m. You'd also want to use bigger bore pipes to avoid the risk of blockages - With that in mind, I'd suggest running 68mm downpipe all the way across to where your water butts are and running the overflow to a new soakaway.
The alternative is to site the butts close to where the downpipe is currently located and then pump the water to where you need it - Will work out cheaper, and certainly less effort.

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
