Stud Wall Advice

Options
Hi,

I split a large double bedroom into two single bedrooms a few years back. I'm looking to move the stud wall so one of the rooms has extra space for a double bed. Is this possible and what would be a ballpark figure for this type of job?

Many thanks in advance for any advice I can get.

It's a very simple job to move a non supporting stud wall. I am assuming it's quite small and there are no complications like pipes, power cables and doors. You would be looking at around £1000.

I think it's a more simple job if the wall is perpendicular to the joists (parallel to floorboards).
Otherwise, if it sits on a joist, a single joist has to be doubled if not trebled.
If it's between two joists then extra noggins have to be added and the joists have to be doubled.

Maybe not that cheap - materials would be around £250 depending on size, couple of days labour, then it needs plastering and decorating. I would say £1600-£2000k, depending on location.
if you need electrics, then another £150-£200
