Morning allMust get out of bed in a mo to get ready to go and do some food shopping then back as someone is collecting a small table that I sold on Faceache for my DS. Just hope I don't drop it on my toes when handing over!Apart from that it looks a nice day so will probably water my seeds in my plastic greenhouse and settle down in the garden and start a new book I've just got if the temperature's not too bad out there.Have a good day all and take care x11

The new optician was fine, she was not very chatty which I found both refreshing and strange. There's a very slight change in my left eye so I'll have a new lense in the glasses I use in the car. I did a small wash in the afternoon which soon dried outside, there was lots of sunshine along with a strong breeze. This morning I'm getting my stitches removed, then I'll go to retrieve my meds from the pharmacy's new vending machine. 😀 That's my day so far, rain is promised so no plans yet. I'd like to get in the garden for a wee while if everything stays dry.I hope that everyone has a good day. Hugs to all12

Lovely sunny start here. Another day of postal vote sorting - finished earlier yesterday so got all the shopping and collections done too.Even managed some pottering in the garden tieing up roses and clematis that have gone mad in the recent warm/damp weather. Will tidy the daffodil remains this evening I think.Hope everyone has a good friday

Morning
A lovely bright and sunny start. I've been up a while so 1 lot of washing is on the line. I get much more done first thing, I'm a morning person while DH is a night owl, I'm sure I'll be seeing him soon.
Not sure what's happening today, although I want to get some price comparisons on pet insurance. Must do that before next month. Sausages for tea, maybe in hot dog rolls for a change.
Have a good day everyone, thinking of those with worries and the poorly, sending hugs your way. Take care.10 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
I’m in the office but don’t start until 8:30am so I’m having my breakfast - nice staff area in which to do so which makes a change!
I got a lot done yesterday including putting my feet up for a couple of hours. DH is off today and will mow the lawn and sort the car - fuel, oil, Adblue and screen wash! Dinner tonight is steak and chips.Cross-stitch WIP: HSC Jingle Bells Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 09/25 Currently reading The Vows of Silence by Susan Hill13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. The sun has his hat on here and the sky is blue. All looks calm so no evidence of any wind.
Yesterday' quick shopping trip with DD lasted most of the day! Her and DS are a different breed where shopping is concerned! As the freezer was starting to see daylight at last I decided the time had come for a stock up and I managed to find quite a few bargains. So it's back to rammed again.. And since the smaller freezer was pressed into service for DD's bargain buys my overflow has gone in there too. My name is TA and I am a food hoarder!
Busy morning ahead as nothing got done yesterday. So a quick clean of the kitchen and bathroom before a whizz round with duster and vac. Then after lunch I have an appointment at the Opticians. I know my sight has got worse since my last test, no doubt due to the cataracts which she wanted to refer me for. As I have a phobia about anything eye connected I wanted to postpone the referral but I must now put on my big girls knickers and agree to it.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Hope all goes well SS at your pre-op. Take care all xx

Morning all and thanks @Gers for starting today's thread. Weather here today is for light cloud, unlikely to rain, top temperature maybe 13 or 14 deg.
Welcome to @Maikdonmend, you've set yourself an ambitious target to declutter the whole house in 8 weeks! It will be worth the effort, though you might find it's a never-ending task. I wish you well and look forward to updates on how it's going.
@nanny - So sorry to hear you're still not getting a lot of sleep. Take care and rest up when you can.
@Izzy - My late MiL was a bit of a Hyacinth too, I think most families have one. The lady you clean for will be glad of any kind of respite she can get from her caring duties so well done for being there for her.
Yesterday's decorating prep continued. I emptied the sideboard with contents from the cupboards now ensconced in two storage crates under the stairs (least used stuff in the bottom crate) and three drawers stacked up in a corner of the room (again, least used one at the bottom). Then I pulled out the sideboard and, as expected, found it needed cleaning behind there plus odds and ends that had dropped down the back. All binned apart from a hair claw that I used to use when my hair was long; that's been washed and sterilised and can start off the next CS bag. By the time I'd hoovered up the cobwebs it was time for lunch, after which I washed the second wall and started the third one until I reached where the door is. That seemed a convenient place and time to stop for the day - by that stage I was pooped anyway!
Today it's the usual Friday admin, then I'll do the rest of the third wall. Wall no.4 may or may not get done this weekend. Whilst I'm looking forward to the finished job, I'm not so keen on the prep part but needs must. I'm expecting a parcel delivery of two belts (one black suede and one off-white leather) that I've ordered to wear with some loose, float-y summer tops that are too big since I've lost weight. Fish for tea tonight, chocolate mousse for afters.
@Gers - Update please on how you get on with the pharmacy vending machine. Hope all goes well with the stitch removal.
@Suffolksue - Good luck for today, you'll be relieved when it's all done with.
@TA - You have my sympathies, I felt just the same about having my cataracts done. The alternative doesn't bear thinking about though so you get those big girls knickers on!
Right, porridge and fruit first, then I'll crack on. Best wishes to all for a good day, hugs where needed, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here and looks to be a nice day, I am having my nails done this morning which is always a treat and it’s nice to see my nail lady.
I took Rob back yesterday and we were early so popped into Mr T as I wanted some pots for along side my pond and wouldn’t you know it more plants jumped into the basket 🙄 I also got some Easter eggs greatly reduced down to 87p so a few of them jumped in too 👀
so I have some more planting to do either today or tomorrow I might do it today and then give them all a good watering as they are all quite dry.
Dinner tonight will be a bacon and Stilton crust less quiche which I made yesterday I will do some coleslaw to go with it and some new potatoes I will make a big bowl or coleslaw to last the weekend.
I got the chicken out for yesterday’s dinner which I had bought on Monday and noticed it was 9 days out of date when I bought it 🤢 I usually look at the dates but missed this one, I messaged Lidl and they came straight back to me saying they had contacted the store and had credited me with £15 good customer service but shocking it was still on the shelf.
S Sue hope all goes well today xx
Gers good luck with the stitches removal xx
Have good days all and take care xx10
