I I have this growing in my border, about 3 feet away from where I am growing runner beans.

Need I get rid of this fungus? I cannot remove the stump.

Thank you.

It’s Trametes versicolor (Turkeytail fungus). Totally harmless it only grows on dead hardwood.

Nature's way of dealing with dead wood. Not a problem to anything living.

That is beautiful and harmless and anyway, how do you think you even could 'get rid of it'? That fruiting body you can see is the equivalent of apples on a tree - you can pick all the apples but that doesn't harm the tree at all. Same with fungi, that's just an outgrowth of the fungus proper which is probably throughout the remaining stump

And like apples, (some) fungi are edible. Some sites claim that Turkey Tail is inedible, others say it is and has medicinal benefits.

Sorry Punk, I think it's beautiful too. And harmless.

I had a huge bracket fungus in the garden. I chopped it off and varnished it as a decoration 😁 you could varnish it in situ if you wanted.
Otherwise just take a sharp knife and cut it off.
I'd take a close up of it as a photo and frame it.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
