Ok so, this is where I'm up to - a telephone call around Christmas time, which I'm not too pleased about. Any advice?
But this is already more than covered in the first 8 steps in the Template Defence thread and you do NO preparation and offer nothing.

    Nobody cares about Mediation.

Don't even answer if you are busy.

Doesn't affect anything if you don't answer. I'm surprised you're taken aback by a normal 'nothing' stage that the 8 steps told you about.

So, after a long wait, I finally get my court letter. Just wondering what guidance you could share for how much defence prep I would need for this? Hoping that they just pull the plug on this once and for all!

I'm not sure, but is there a list of 8 steps for you to follow, so you know what happens when, and what to expect next?

Maybe you could look at the 8 steps first, and that would help you in your case.

No they won't. TCP claims go to hearings so obviously you are now working on your WS and exhibits.

As the NEWBIES thread tells you under the shouty capitals red sub-heading IMPORTANT: KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN'.

You haven't told us that deadline. The order tells you…

I’ve just read back through the thread, but I think this is a ParkingEye claim (via DCB Legal) which the OP has tagged on to his earlier TPS case. The OP should nonetheless keep following the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, post number TWO, and the Template Defence Announcement’s 8 steps. Then there’s every chance that DCB Legal will discontinue.

The ball is definitely in your court @Smiling_Assassin17 to make sure you don’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. No complacency. It’s not yet over.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I agree, the thread title seems to refer to an old TCP case, but the current claim appears to be Parking Eye via DCB LEGAL, at a site that includes Home Bargains, the hearing date in April is at Chester Court on the 14th

The hearing fee deadline date is Friday 20th March

When is your WS plus Exhibits bundle deadline ? ( explained on that court order, is it 31st March. ? )

Keep checking your email inbox and spam folders for their N279 discontinuation document which should arrive next week

  • Changed the title so it's a little more to the point. Thanks.

I'd remove the name of the store (irrelevant!) and replace it with:

Claim from ParkingEye via DCB Legal

When is your WS plus Exhibits bundle deadline .. (explained on that court order), is it 31st March?

Do show us the attached NoD when it arrives please! @Umkomaas needs them for the thread counting all the DCB Legal discontinuances.

  • so…I've completely messed up and realised that it will be an embarrassing court hearing for me. Even though I have not had any correspondence from DBSL in terms of their statements, I have missed the deadline to compose my own WS due to my own ignorance and hectic home/work situation. I have failed to anticipate the depth of research and understanding required to compose a half decent WS to fully defend myself and will more than likely get laughed out of that hearing.

I guess the only positive outcome is that people can learn from my mistakes "don't be lazy - Be organised"
