Omaze £10 prize can only be used to buy more tickets?

I recently decided to try Omaze for a few months with a £20 monthly subscription. Since February I've won two "£10 prizes", but each time it is impossible to claim it as cash, or even use it to reduce the next month's subscription. The only option I'm offered to use my "prize" is to buy more tickets in the next draw. This seems dubious/unethical if not explicitly fraudulent... Rather like the money gambling companies give people to encourage them to carry on playing. Does everyone have the same experience or do you get different "prizes" that can actually be claimed if you continue to give them money? Interestingly my son entered one Omaze draw and got the same non-prize so it seems more likely to be a marketing ploy than genuine prize. I'm feeling disillusioned with Omaze, but would like to hear if other people have better experiences.

Commonplace among raffle companies.
I'm not sure why you are suggesting it is fraudulent - unless they're explicitly stating that you've won a £10 cash prize? If it's like most other sites, they're relatively clear it's a gift card or the equivalent.Know what you don't0 -
I have had £10 prize to extra entries which I did but I have also had an option to choose a gift card for a retailer but not recently

I don't remember there being an option to receive £10 in cash but there was an option of a £10 gift card.If you weren't given that option, contact them via one of the options here.

If you can only have more tickets surely it would be more honest to say "You've won X more tickets in our next draw" not to send repeated emails saying "Collect your £10 prize"? The wording is certainly misleading if there is no way I can claim the money they say I've won.Victoria25 said:I recently decided to try Omaze for a few months with a £20 monthly subscription. No alternative choices or gift cards offered in any of the 3 instances I've encountered, just 'click here to claim and buy more tickets' with the "winnings". But thanks for the links which I will check and the next time it happens I will contact them to ask about alternatives.gdmoney said:Victoria25 said:I recently decided to try Omaze for a few months with a £20 monthly subscription. I had an Omaze £10 subscription for about 14 months from April 2023 and won £10 twice but each time I could choose a retailer gift card code.
When I went to use the 2nd code I had redeemed a few months previously it just said 'expired' in my account. Contacted support and they were very quick to email me the code and instructions on using it either on the retailer's website or in store which was appreciated.
Wishing you lots of luck for future draws!

I too have won the £10 prize twice recently. Again you can only use it towards tickets on their site. I d0 find this frustrating as they used to allow you to have an amazon voucher etc, which actually felt like you were winning something. A long while ago they also used to let you select a prize from a list rather than a financial prize, which was also nice. This way it doesn't feel like your actually winning anything, all you are doing is making the odds of winning a house higher!Victoria25 said:I recently decided to try Omaze for a few months with a £20 monthly subscription. Omaze need to publish their charity %age. And need to stop offering pathetic subscription prizes, which are not.

The small Prizes of £10 or £15 are really not as good as they were. Previously you had a choice of prizes including Amazon vouchers however that is now gone. I do feel a prize of a subscription is not really a genuine prize but more a way to hook you in that should be investigated.1
