Shame to blow it away before understanding the benefits of the tools like CoPilot, ChatGPT, Gemini epecially for seniors. They can answer 75% of the tech questions posted on the forum for example plus answer health questions, tax queries, look for hotels - anything really!

The issue is often the answers will be varying degrees of incorrect even though they sound plausible.  There is no way to tell how incorrect the answers are without fact checking.

Why would you want answers to technical things or financial matters that could well be wrong?
Just like this forum really! (And most others to be fair).

The issue of LLMs hallucinating was solved ages ago
It has not been solved.  It is unlikely to be solved any time soon.

This is no less true when asking humans.  The only way to be sure it to check a number of different sources and get a consensus.

The big advantage an LLM has over asking a question on a forum is speed.   You ask a question, you get an answer right way.   Ask a question on a forum and you *might* get an response in a few minutes (if you're constantly refreshing to see), or it might be a few hours, or days.   Or never.

Once you have an answer you can either try it (if it's not likely to be destructive) or you can use that answer as a starting point for further digging to confirm if it seems right.

Or even more so on health matters?
In general - it is not a good idea to go to the internet for health questions at all unless you're qualified/competent to interpret the results properly.  (and it's best to assume you're not).

Cyberchondria (a.k.a. Internet Diagnosis Syndrome) is a very real issue in healthcare.
