Morning all. Today's forecast in my neck of the woods is for light cloud and light winds with the occasional sunny interval, not likely to rain and temperatures could get up to 15 deg.
Yesterday I started on the decorating prep of washing down walls and did one full wall and most of a second wall. I'll finish that one off today but will need to move the sideboard first and that will mean emptying it as I doubt I'd be able to move it when it's full.It could be a good opportunity to have a sort out of contents! Easy tea tonight of bacon, egg and mushrooms.
I was just about ready to call it a day at around 5pm when I saw and heard an altercation outside between a group of three young men and an older man. It didn't quite make it to the stage of fisticuffs but the language was very threatening and colourful on the part of the older man. After a few minutes everyone disappeared. Twenty minutes later four police officers turned up as did a police cordon that was in place for a couple of hours. I think one of the young men is part of a family that recently moved into the next block of maisonettes. It's normally a very quiet area so I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
Congratulations @Chrisca, welcome to your new DGGS.
@Gers - That was kind of you to sort out your DM's crossword friend's pharmacy delivery needs; it will help him a lot, especially in the bad weather. Fingers crossed the Boots service is better than my pharmacy. I tried it once but soon "sacked" them due to non-deliveries, wrong deliveries etc. Tbf, it was a while ago so maybe it's improved since then.
Glad to hear you're planning on a quieter day @-taff!
Take care all, especially those having a tough time for whatever reason, I hope the day will be kind to you. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Glad you were able to sort your friend's meds out and hope the optician experience is good!
I have a day off today - new role is 3 long days Mon, Wed and Fri with the NHS. Only Band 3 admin (and busy!!) but in the MH pathway, so very close to my heart. Nice team of colleagues and an easy 4 stop train commute. Today I have the house to myself as DD and DH are working. DH has a second job as a yardman which will be same days as me but as he's learning the ropes, he's going in every day this week and next. I have done two loads of washing already, prepped dinner, and done some cleaning and it's still only just 10am! Will have a sit down later
Hugs to you and your DH @ScarletRibbons - hope the treatment is going okay x
@nannywindow - sorry to hear about your DN, such a worry x
@IzzyBee - love your garden, and I agree with @taff that there's plenty of space for more pots!!
Sorry to hear of DF's DS in Aus @TravellingAbuela - what a worry and the distance doesn't help. Also annoying about DGD's phone scam grrrr
Congratulations to you @Chrisca50 on becoming a GGM - hope this is a new chapter for you and your DGD x
Exciting news about a new campervan @AlwaysAllie, and good job on the postal vote opening. Have realised that we aren't on the electoral role here and not sure if we can register now - will investigate today.
Sending hugs to @remmie and your NDN - such a worry x
Hope you enjoy your walk @silver-oldie and sending you hugs x
Well done on the decorating prep @YorksLass x
I'm sorry if I've missed anyone else's news!!

Hello all, it's dry but very overcast. I had a dreadful night with very little sleep. There's nothing much of note happening today anyway except awaiting a delivery of filaments for the 3D printer, Mr Fix it is printing love spoon shaped bookmarks for DD. Maybe I will have a nana nap later.
Today there will be more pottering again just doing some small jobs that should have been tackled before ! That's enough waffling from me.
Crisca congrats on the new baby boy.
TA how annoying for your DGD.
Take care all

Morning everyone I’ve just got in from the cleaning job where her hubby is on end of life care bless him I could see a difference from last week he’s losing a lot of weight but he seemed cheerful and with it this morning I gave him the newspaper when I went in and asked him if he would like me to peel him a grape while a fanned him down he was laughing his head off next time he woke up he thought I was the nurse but he’s at home where he wants to be but she looks worn out she asked me to go early as she was getting a hairdresser to come so I chased her into the shower while I was there and told her to take her time he was alright. Gers I hope the new optician is alright. Chirsca congratulations on your new GGD . @IzzyBee that must have been a lovely feeling to bring a smile to that poor man's face like that. Good on you xMy DGD is very hot and cold with my DS. Hot when she wants something and at the moment hasn't even contacted him to tell him of the birth of his DGS. We shall see what happens in the future.10

Hello, new person here.
I joined to learn and be with like minded people.
My challenge is to entirely declutter the house in a short as amount of time as possible, ( maybe 8 weeks). Someone who had worked in a position of authority was kind to me the other day and it was like waking up from a very long nightmare. Never underestimate the power of kindness!
Decluttering will allow me to save more money and also give me the space to do what I want and need to do. As well as make cleaning easier. We currently have 14 hours of daylight each day.6 -
Well Make Do, check out the Decluttering thread, you can't go wrong on that and everyone is always kind on there...Izzy, see, you have made a difference to them just by being there...And yes! hanging baskets!
good call....my ankle is ok ish, just have to remember it hurts the day after standing a lot on it...
