ULEZ non compliancy after plate change

Good morning!
I need help! I have a 2013 diesel car.  It has a private plate on it.  When ULEZ was introduced my car was compliant and I’ve been driving it ever since within the ULEZ zone.

We have decided it’s time to sell the car and have reverted the plates to their original.  Since then I have received 14 PCN notices as I live in the ULEZ zone.

I have challenged them and provided evidence of the plate change and both log books and they have rejected my challenge.

I am currently at approx £1500 of PCN fines.  Where do I stand with getting these cancelled if in fact my car isn’t complaint.  TfL said it was in the first place and surely it’s not my fault just because of a plate change?

Please can you give me some advice?

Thank you

The best advice I can give you is to post your query over on the FTLA parking forum website in the appropriate section there , after reading their posting requirements first.  Try not to use a Hotmail address for signing up

You might have had a ULEZ-compliant number plate but it would be a very rare 2013 diesel car that was compliant.

The compliant-ness of a motor is down to its Euro Category, not what vanity plate you've stuck on it.

Did TfL really tell you you were compliant or did you just stick your number plate in the checker?

Those PCN notices sound solid to me, pay up.

Check to see if the vehicle complied  and not the number plate.
It could be that the number plate was listed as compliant but you attached to a vehicle that was not. if that is the case then things may be tricky.
Before panicking and paying go to the ftla site

The OP has now posted over on the FTLA parking forum

Personally,  I cannot see how the vehicle can be compliant,  even if the personalised plate was, but that is one reason why I suggested the FTLA parking forum
