PIP and Group Income Protection

Does anyone know if PIP can be deducted from Group Income Protection? I have been on GIP for many years due to a health condition but have recently deteriorated and have been awarded PIP by the DWP. I was never given any T&Cs by my employer (whom has not been in contact for years) and the insurance company have refused to talk with me as they said the policy is with my employer. An advice line didn't think it would affect it as PIP is not a salary replacement benefit but I'm not sure.

I am also in receipt of PHI and PIP would not need to be declared whereas sickness/unemployment benefits would. However, your scheme may be different. You should ask your employer for a copy of the full Ts&Cs of your scheme - which you should have been given anyway. You do not need to give a reason, just contact HR and ask them to send it to you.

Group PHI pays your employer and your employer continues to pay your salary via the PAYE system; albeit usually at a lower level. That usually means if PIP is payable if you're working it's also payable if you are in receipt of income from your employer from a Group PHI scheme.I am a mortgage broker.
