eBay automated feedback gone live

Noticed this morning that I have automatic feedback for items I have sold.

Not really a fan of this,  if you look at my feedback now the top 9 are identical generic comments.

I think I'd prefer to have 1 or 2 genuine comments like 'really quick postage' or 'excellent description'

I usually look at the comments rather than the numbers when buying so I'm not sure if this will help things?

I thought there was a way to see how many items a seller had sold anyway? This just seems to be diluting the quality of the feedback I do get?

I have never been a fan of automatic feedback, I can't really see the point and think generally this obsession with requiring feedback for every minutiae of our lives is getting out of hand. I don't welcome it on ebay at all.

Vinted do it and I once queried it on a Vinted forum saying I saw no point and was told by several users that it helps show the number of transaction that a person has, so if they have sold 800 things but only got 300 feedback it looks like the site is slow, but 800 encourages people to see how good a site is and want to use it themselves. Surely though if that was the reason a simple count would be sufficient, an extra box by the feedback just with something like '800 sales , 100 purchases' instead of this nonsense.

Wasn't this to assist new sellers in getting their new accounts to show activity because some new accounts had sold hundreds of items and still showed no feedback whatsoever?

It looks like you can view the feedback with or without the automatic ones as I have a tick box at the top RH that says
    Show automated feedback

Ebay have a bit of a problem in that some people really love the feedback system so they need to keep it and try and make it more relevant. Mine has been automated as a seller for ages now. It's clearly not as important as it used to be on there.

I'm with you on the feedback for everything. "I did my job, tell me how great I am" is a pain in the bum. My pet gripe is when you ask a question somewhere and they send an automated reply saying they'll be in touch within the next few days, a few seconds later you get a "How was my response" email.

Just had my first automated feedback (wasn’t sent using SD either).  Is it correct to say that after this there’s no option for the buyer to open any kind of case (not that I was expecting any).  I normally have two categories of postage receipts, one where buyer had given positive feedback or is timed out, one where well no feedback etc received.  Automated feedback is somewhere in between!

Another question, does this stop a buyer leaving feedback themselves after 2 weeks.  I have often noticed late feedback in the past.  On my selling dashboard on one with automated feedback it obviously doesn’t shoe with the icon for feedback left.

Buyers can still open a case. In fact, if they leave positive feedback themselves they can still open a case.

The buyer can still leave feedback themselves and that will overwrite the automatic feedback.

My seller dashboard is the same as yours, no icon showing for items that have recived automatic feedback.
I do not know what the buyer sees?
No idea if they can see that automatic fb has been left for them or not?
I can see this becoming an issue as well,
Buyer purchases an item, 3 weeks later it breaks.  They go to leave a neutral fb but see positive fb has already been left. This angers them and they give a negative instead!
