BLUE BADGE parking in KINNOULL STREET PERTH

My son only passed his test in Jan and I got a motability car with him as my named driver. We tried to park in Kinnoull street multi storey for the first time ever in a multi storey and were ticketed. My son's autistic and a worrier so he appealed it, failed so paid it. It's a convenient location for us so now have got the blue badge we'd like to try again but we don't understand how to use the badge with the Anpr smart parking. The badge isn't linked to the car it's linked to me so the cameras won't know if the car has a badge or not. Do we need to do something at ticket office? If not does anyone know what? I tried canal street but before the badge and was easy enough no ticket.
Please can someone help me out. Parking in Perth is something else. They turn feral trying to take that stop from you hahaha. Seriously though if anyone has any tips it would be great.

I'd ask the MP who is always in the press about this place. Is it Pete Wishart?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So the ANPR system works for you, like everyone else - you need to pay.
Free blue badge parking in Perth looks to be in council car parks only, this leaflet (pdf) has a list, Canal St is on there, Kinnoull St isn't.

Edit: the council are apparently buying the car park, but I'm not sure if the transaction has gone through, or when the ownership starts - you may want to check with the council

did you park without an badge or paying? agree badge will get you a dedicated place but need also to get ticket1

There is no way for anyone to know it's a Motability vehicle without putting in a justifiable request to DVLA. The fact you escaped a ticket in Canal street was probably down to luck that there were no passing traffic wardens. Always display the blue badge when parking.0

Blue badges have no meaning in private car parks except to allow an attendant to check if the vehicle can park in a BB bay.Always check signage in every car park visited the terms and conditions are supposed to make a commercial contract in private car parks, only a tiny minority offer free parking. The invoice has been paid, you are unlikely to get the money back what ever you do, a lesson learned.Pity you didn't come here first, in Scotland there was no need to pay the scammers anything.5

I can see none of the above are regulars on the parking board, so maybe some if you might be unaware of this specific, notorious scam site nor that right-minded people just DON'T have to pay private parking charges all the time that the rogue industry remains unregulated.

Ask the Perth MP for the latest on this and tell him/her you are scared to park there now, due to the scam ANPR surveillance and no consideration of extra time for disabled people (a legal duty under the Equality Act).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@Coupon-mad I appreciate that you have your particular viewpoint, but unfortunately motorists who want to use city centre car parks may need to pay to park close to where they want to go.
That includes people who hold blue badges. If no one pays for parking, then mysteriously car parks will vanish as landowners (including councils) find more financially beneficial uses for the land.
Be careful what you wish for.1 -

The issue is the rogue parking industry who rinse millions from people.
Luckily, the Government is on the case and is listening to me (and others with clout) and the MHCLG guys love the evidence from this forum.
Luckily too, the local MP has named and shamed that car park in Parliament which is why I 'm confident they'll assist this person to stop them being scammed by a PPC again.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The trouble with telling people they don't need to pay the fines/invoices when they are charged because someone failed to pay, is why would someone pay the to park in the first place, if the consequences of not doing so can just be batted away...
How do you think parking charges should be enforced when people fail to pay when they are required to do so.0 -

How do you think parking charges should be enforced when people fail to pay when they are required to do so.Much of this is the confusion BB holders have between council, on-street parking and private car parks, and their right to park for free for up to three hours in the two former ones. We have so many examples of that confusion. Sometimes the confusion is a symptom of their condition. We hardly ever see a BB holder arguing the case that private parking should always be free to them as a group.
So, do you think it's reasonable that some private company (many of them ex-clampers, some with criminal pasts) should be enriched to the tune of £100 every time for a simple error? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
