Poor Zoom meeting performance

My wife has a weekly Zoom meeting that she attends with half a dozen others. She often has problems with jerky video and stuttering sound accompanied by a 'low bandwidth' message. Occasionally the connection to the meeting is dropped altogether. Other members do not seem to suffer the same.
This is using a laptop accessing extended WiFi with the speed immediately beforehand normally showing 12 - 20Mbps. I understand this should be ample for Zoom. Additionally, immediately after the meeting I can get a completely flawless streaming of a film on the laptop and my phone simultaneously in the same spot suggesting healthy bandwith.
Has anyone experienced anything similar at all?

Download speed is probably fine but what's your upload speed like? Zoom calls are (obviously) 2-way, unlike streaming a film.2

Streaming videos can buffer frames when the bandwidth is good to smooth out peaks and troughs. I suspect your connection is experiencing highly variable latency and jitter, possibly with packet loss on top, which is what is killing Zoom. Can you try Zoom with the laptop wired to the router to eliminate WiFi issues?
Try running Zoom's network diagnostic tool - https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB00581140 -
Typically between 7 and 15 Mbps0

I had the same issue recently but my connection is 300up and 500down so it maybe just a glitch with
Zoom, several others had issues also who also had decent connections.
What camera are you using? If more than 1080 is there an option to lower the quality a little?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Unless it is absolutely necessary try turning the camera off.Past caring about first world problems.0
