Worthy of a poor signage appeal?

  • When you say pre-action, what was the end point of that exactly? I'm only asking as I received a PCN for this car park in May 2025. Obviously appealed and rejected twice and have ignored ever since. Then got the Letter Before Claim from the operator two months ago which I was going to respond to, disputing it all once more to show that I was still actively fighting, but I never got round to it. So I might be at the same point as you?

LBC is pre-action stage and many private PCNs stop at that point with no intention to litigate.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Thanks for confirming. Do you think it’s worth responding to the LBC? I can put together a short letter restating my dispute and requesting full evidence etc. It would show that I’m engaging with the process and complying with the pre‑action protocol rather than ignoring it.

Yes. This is why there is already a LBC response in the NEWBIES thread post 2, and there's also one in the official MSE Guide to private parking tickets.
