How likely is it they would entertain a payment plan?

OOO no, don't. Pay your rent. They are entitled to slap interest on it if it's late ( check your tenancy) and if you can't even pay it all a few days late you're on the slippery road to eviction. What about next month's rent?
It would be better to have a payment plan for the tax bill, HMRC can't make you homeless.
(I'm a landlord BTW and I wouldn't entertain such an idea)3 -
If you're struggling to pay the rent for a single month then you need to find somewhere cheaper to live0

I think you need to talk to debt charities / debt advice. Rent / mortgage should be one of the very last things you default on - you can lose your home ultimately. I’d be talking to HMRC about the tax bill and a payment plan there. Do not just not pay your May rent.0

The plan better for the future tax bill!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)1 -
