RobinStrings said:The rental home is in an exposed position on top of a multi-story buildingSo you knew exactly what you were accepting. I see no fraud and surely you are intelligent enough to know this? Sounds like the wind the building gets hit with is less than the wind in this thread. What I do see is someone wanting anyone else to fix the 'fraud' and taking no responsibilty for the property they chose and now live in.Fix the problem yourself. And I don't mean trying to draw in the legal profession at tax payers' expense or anyone else but fix it yourself ie physically with DIY or get a builder.Or just move but next time take responsibility for your decisions.

When I've gone to rent or buy properties in the past I've taken a friend/family member with me because sometimes they might spot things that I don't think of. You can never trust the salesman to be acting in your best interest.1. The landlord under discussion here is a Social Housing Provider. Are you saying these Supremely virtuous paragons of saintly benevolence are as decietful, manipulative and ouright Predatory as any other rapacious company? Rhetorical question. My experience would suggest, Yes, yes they are.2. How would you suggest prospective tenants to know the level of exposure, until Winter Weather arrived and revealed to the inhabitants who had been decieved into believing their new home was weather-tight, just how Not weather-tight the property was?3. It's a Landlord Maintained Property - The expectation from entering into contract for a Landlord Maintained, Weather-Tight home being, that if the Ridiculous scenario arose where an uncomfortable 30mph freezing-cold ghale somehow began blowing through the living room of this Weather-Tight property, the Landlord would remedy it.
2. By looking and seeing 8 large holes in the walls. By logic, that at altitude, wind has less to break it up and hence will be felt more strongly. Finally, by reading the contract and not spotting the words 'weather tight' anywhere.
3. Firstly you're not contracting for a weather tight home, whaever that is. Homes have to be ventilated, so its never going to be 100% weather tight. If it was really galing winds up there, then you'd be able to take it to Environmental Health and get it rectified. If you didn't or if they didn't hold up your complaint, then that's the end.0
