Morning all, it's dry here but cloudy. I had to clean out my fridge yesterday as there was an unpleasant smell in it 🤢. Everything was taken out, the inside cleaned, shelves washed and put back. I threw out some unopened Boursin which was the culprit and it's all ok now.
Today I'm waiting for a call from JL with a delivery for Dad, a new larger TV for his bedroom. If it arrives early enough we'll go up and install it, otherwise we'll go tomorrow, I'll just do some pottering until I know what's happening.
I'm another one in the short trousers club and I hate shopping for them. Every time I have to take them up as they seem to be mostly 31 inch leg, oh I wish !
Thanks for the comments about DGNephew, it was a shock to hear about the way it was done but I'm sure he'll be ok, he's not had an easy life and he's a lovely gentle soul. We'll keep an eye on him anyway.
TA hugs to you and your friend.
Have a good day everyone, whatever you have planned.
nan xx

Another one looking for non-wide-leg trousers. I spent a good part of last week browsing for either straight-legged or boot cut ones, I really don't want the trendy wide ones. Last year I was complaining about M&S regular trousers suddenly being too long whilst the short ones are too short. I feel like Goldilocks. There's zero chance of fibre broadband for me. There's only two of us in about a mile radius of the countryside and we are the last telephones on the exchange. Last year I got an email about Digital Voice and went to the roadshow about it where the agent assured me that it would not affect my line, he almost laughed! So, yes, it's a no-brainer and I had been struck by a severe case of inertia. Numpty!I've been faffing with my laptop which has decided to stop responding to a shortcut command - I'll have to ask on the techie board. EDIT - asked on the techie board, got an immediate reply which sorted out the problem.
Meanwhile I've backed up my files, cleared some out (lots of duplicates on the portable hard drive) and have earned another coffee.

Morning all...I have to say, I wasn't on the shed roof, that was OHs job, I was just unrilling, lifting, carrying and foreman...we do work well together, we're both problem solvers and you wouldn't believe how much problem solving there was to do a shed roof that has an overhang that isn't supposed ot be there and too little felt...Bloody instructions....Yesterday was allotment, today is back garden, clean greenhouse bits and start stripping wallpaper. If I want my table and chairs, downstairs has to be done first [ I'm not happy about it but OH has a good point]. Food today is roast chicken and tatties, never got round ot making a roast this weekend so tonight it is instead.Nanny, how awful for you GN, he's had a rough deal. Chrsi, I have the opposite problem, trousers are never long enough. Allie, always a shock to be back to reality after some lovely time off. Ruby, isn't it funny how that happens in a garden centre? You'd have thought they would have warning signs about it
remmie, well done being the clearer upper and even more well done for holding your tongue, don't know if I could do that! TA, virtual hugs for your DF, she's another going through the wringer. Take care today all if you can, poodles on the alert...

TA sorry to hear about your friend I will be sending a big hug your way and nans and anyone else who wants one I think we could all do with one now and again. I’m having a coffee before I do anything I was going to wash some towels this morning but it’s supposed to rain I wish I had now they would have been nearly dry but it is starting to cloud over never mind I’ve plenty of towels they will get done another day. Jacket potatoes for tonight with sausage and beans because I can’t be bothered to think of anything else. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all. Yesterday's weather was a very soggy and miserable affair with continuous drizzle until teatime when the sun made a feeble but unsuccessful attempt to shine. Today, however, it's redeeming itself and it should be fine all day.
Not a lot done over the Bank Holiday weekend and I'm almost relieved to get back to normal. Today I have the usual weekly Co-op shop for milk and a TV guide and this afternoon a parcel to take to the PO. Sadly, they are in opposite directions so it will have to be two trips but at least I'll not be in to listen to whichever inconsiderate neighbour has decided that everyone should listen to their choice of music. It isn't overly loud - more of a background noise - but it's still annoying. Tea tonight is sausage casserole, baby potatoes and green beans.
The energy bill arrived this morning, as expected it's lower than last month so going in the right direction although the less said about the standing charges the better. I have a little rant to myself about those every month.
Another one here who is vertically challenged when it comes to trouser lengths. As pointed out by @Rosy, the demand is definitely there for the shorter lengths. The resurgence of wide legs is a no-no too.
@TA - That's awful news for your friend, especially as her DS is on the other side of the world. Hugs to you and her.
@Gers - Well done on sorting out the phone/broadband.
@-taff - It's pointless telling you to slow down I know. but I'm glad to hear it wasn't you on the shed roof!
Right, time to crack on with today's excitement so I'll wish you all a good day. Help yourself to a hug if you need or want one (it sounds as if quite of few of us could do with one or two) and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Hello everyone. Just a quick one from me to say we finished our JoGLE walk on Saturday. 92 days, c.1200 miles and £17k raised to date in memory of my nephew. Very emotional couple of days with the family in Cornwall and a 7+ hour drive back home yesterday.I’m not back at work until tomorrow so have been doing life admin - washing, banking, cleaning - and tidying up the garden whilst it’s nice weather.I’ll read back to see what I’ve missed. Hugs to everyone.Coxy xxCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings12

That's some going Coxy. Well done. Just a shame it's back to work now and you couldn't spend longer relaxing in Cornwall xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"3
