Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
It looks quite nice out this morning - there's been overnight rain and it's a bit chilly but dry for now.
Visited a pal yesterday for a couple of hours which was good although I had 'real' coffee (usually have decaff) and felt a bit odd for a couple of hours!
Once the rain started I got on with some knitting and watched TV, a nice relaxing day before going back to work this morning.
Hope you're feeling a bit more upbeat today Mehefin - it's early days.
Have a good day - must remember it's Tuesday and not make the wrong order for school lunches!
Take care. XX14 -
Morning allJust hung some washing out and feels milder than usual out there.Did the pressure washing yesterday. Patio now not green anymore. Me, on the other hand, was filthy!Off out for a browse round large shoping centre today. Want some straight legged cotton trousers but they all seems to be wide legged at the moment which doesn't suit a 5 foot nothing me at all so we shall see what I can findHave a good day all x12

Morning all
Lovely sunshine again after yesterday which provided rain and hail at times.I’m postal vote opening/counting all week for the local elections so have to squeeze in breakfast, dog walk and hanging out washing before I go. I’ll be counting papers and envelopes in my sleep for tonight!Depending on what time I finish (always an unknown depending on how many envelopes there are) I have post office, fabric shop and/or DIY shop to get to as well though they may have to be split up during the week.Hairdresser early evening too so holiday is definitely over and busy again.Take care all

Morning all
Lovely four day weekend I could get used to that, back to reality now and three people coming today not sure what we are up to yet there was talk of a aviation museum or maybe a walk so will see what they fancy.
Dinner tonight will be salmon which we didn’t have the other night new potatoes and asparagus nice quick meal, dd is off today but is shattered after her long shift so I expect she will have a rest this afternoon.
I popped in to get my mum a plant she wanted yesterday and another couple may have fallen into my basket 👀 so I will need to get them planted at the weekend.
Nanny how upsetting for your DN hope it all works out xx
Camelot I can’t drink real coffee at all now it does strange things to me too xx
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Good morning all
A bright sunny start to the day, so different from yesterday when it rained most of the day.
Washing to catch up on as the weather's better. Big dog hated going out yesterday, I'd almost forgotten his dislike of rain. OH sorted out the kitchen sink, without too much mess, so its sweet smelling and running freely again.
I dont think there's any other plans for today, although I feel there's something I need to do. Maybe it'll come to me. I really fancy egg chips and beans for tea, so will have that, nice and easy.
Have a good day whatever you're doing, hugs to all who need. Take care.10 -

Morning folks and thanks GERS. The sun is trying its best to get out this morning and we have a decent forecast. Yesterday was damp but not really raining. A miserable day until 5.00 pm when the sun decided to make an appearance! Another snooker watching day.
No lunch with DF today. She is having a rough time. Not her DH's health this time, it's worse. Her DS in Oz has been diagnosed with something nasty and frightening. I won't go into detail on here other than to say she is devastated and trying to process it all. She hopes to meet me later in the week if only to offload her worries. He is 49, the same age as my own DS, and I can only imagine how I would feel in her position. I knew him as a little lad and right up to him emigrating in his early 20's. Life can be so cruel.
When the sun finally gets out I am promising myself I will resume the potting on outside. As well as emptying other pots of last year's dead stuff. Then the green wheelie might be about full. I have decided I'm not renewing it for the coming year now the price has bumped up stupidly. Not to mention the fact that the kids put in more of their garden rubbish than I do!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx

I've been out already - just into town to send off a return to M&S from the local delivery office which has only a two hour opening window. Got my Radio Times and now back home with my first coffee. It's really bright outside, still very low temperatures, such a lovely change from the very dank day we had yesterday. The rain started at about 11.30a.m. and got worse as the day went on. My faithful electric throw was brought into use again though it died a bit later.
It's now in the car boot ready for the tip. Luckily, I had another one upstairs on the wee sofa bed so that was pressed into use.
My good deed was finally organising the removal of my BT broadband / telephone service. Broadband speeds from BT are worse than dire, 1 - 2MB which does nothing in my house except run Alexa and the stuff which I can voice control. Haven't made or received a call on my land line for at least eight years. A number of years ago I got a contract with EE for one of their home 4G routers which gives me huge speeds. I've been shockingly lazy about paying for double services. It was a chat with my ex which set me off to sort the mess out. So, given 30 days notice to BT, during the call the agent gave me a reduction in the price of the 4G router. EE and BT are the same company so it all makes no sense really. Anyway, it's done. I've moved Alexa over to the EE network and can rest easier with myself and plan how to spend the extra money I've saved.Today is open for me - no ideas yet.@TA - sorry to hear that news, yes, life can be very cruel indeed. I know that you'll be a good listener for your friend. @Nan - hugs to you too.Whatever the day brings you all I wish it goes well for you. Hugs to our poorlies and those who are sad. Memories of lost family and friends linger and haunt for many years, I've learnt to go with the flow whichever way it floods.11 -
Morning , thanks Gers & well done for changing tariffs , sometimes it seems easier staying put.We are lucky in that our street had superfast BB installed a year or so ago so it was a no brainer to switch. Got rid of the tv package too and just stream so we're saving a fair bit.TA sorry to hear your friends news.Nanny, hope your DGN can sort something out.Chrisca- I have the same problem with trousers, I'd look ridiculous with some of the offerings out there. I saw some on marks online that looked ok, linen rich- when I went to buy ,every size and colour was out of stock! That tells me the demand is still there for these kind of staples.Meat balls for tea, and no school pick up today.Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. I'm another member of the short ar*e brigade and I too find shopping for trousers these days a nightmare. Perhaps we should get a petition up!
