I also wonder how the Universal Credit system numbers claiming increasing by the retirement age changes.
    • The Pensions Act 2007 provided for further increases:

    • To 66 between 2024 and 2026.

    • To 67 by 2028.

    • To 68 by 2046 (though this may be brought forward).

It would see even more people claiming that would in the past reached 66 and SPA

UC should now warn you 4-months before you reach SPA with details of how to claim Stare Pension, Pension Credit, and Housing Benefit.
I assume that is done on the journal rather than by letter, but I'm a number of months off that still.

I can't believe how quick the time has gone. I can remember you saying you had 7 years until SPA and that time has flown past.

The increase in numbers claiming UC rather than State Pension also spills over into the current debate about increasing LCW/LCWRA numbers (older people are more likely to have Limited Capability for Work....).
As such it's probably not up for discussion here - except on the thread where such discussion was invited?

Yes, I think that topic will be useful if kept active but will be pushed down out of sight.
