Scottish Power

I am new to this particular board.
I'm with Scottish power ( and have been for 3 years) I have the premier plus pricefall package. ( I know this because I just looked on my bill hehe) To be honest, I've never really paid much attention to my gas/elec bill as I get very confused with it all. I just pay £63.50 a mth for both gas/ecec. I live in a 2 bed mid semi and I do like my heating on in the winter. I am out 3 days a week so the heating is off then.
Anyway, I was reading this board and came across a thread regarding Scottish power and one poster talked of having her account online.
My questions,
1 does anyone know if this is a seperate package or can I just go on to their site and look at my bill etc?
2 Is it worth looking for a different company/ better deal ( i had major problems switching from Powergen and am a little wary of changing un necessarly
3 If I was to change which is the best price comparison site?
Many thanks in advance

To use your Scottish Power account online, get your last bill out as you will need the details from there. Then go to:
http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/Home_Energy/Managing_Your_Account_Online/
and click on the appropriate link.
For price comparison try:
http://www.uswitch.com/HomePage/Index.aspx
You will need to know the details from your last bill or the split between gas and elec to get the best comparison.
At £63.50 per month I would guess at £42 electric, £21.50 gas if you want to do a quick comparison.
You may well find that Scottish Power are actually the cheapest or very close to it at the moment.
DO NOT switch using the links from USwitch. If you use GreasyPalm or Quidco, use the links from their site and get the COMMISSION yourself.
I got £50 for switching to Scottish Power for example. If you use links form USwitch website, THEY will get any commission!!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

Hi , I am with SP also and use their online service its excellent .. you can also look at your usage over the last year and put in your own meter readings.... I find SP to be the cheapest supplier I have a 2 bed semi and they have just reduced my monthly payment from £50 to £38 which I am soooooooooo pleased about...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

DD cheaper as you normally get an annaul discount for this.
Package you are on makes a difference - some have different tarriffs. You may be best going for a fixed price guarantee one if available, although this will have a premium over the cheapest tarriffs. Gas and Elec prices will be going up again soon due to the general energy market (driven by the oil price).British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

Log in to quidco.
Type in name of company in Search box at top
Click on GREEN name of company if it comes up
Click at bottom of paragraph "Click here to visit this merchant and earn cashback"
This opens up supplier website and you should then get your cashback tracked in your account after you complete sgnup/purchase etc.
When you earn over a certain amount (not sure with Quidco as I use GreasyPalm), you will get a payout.
You must always go to a shop through Quidco website or you won't earn cashback.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
