Thanks for the start Gers, the sky is grey and wet here!
I’m back! Fantastic trip - of course made better by the wonderful weather, last few days were chilly but 18days in Scotland in April with only three half days of rain was unbelievable. Just one photo for you - this is the loch that my BFF’s house overlooks.Even better I had two sightings of the Northern Lights albeit a bit wispy.Back to it now - emptying and cleaning the campervan, collecting the new one on Saturday, plus catching up with loads of other jobs too.Haven’t read along every day so will hope all are well and enjoy Easter Monday

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
What a lovely photo Allie, sounds like you had a wonderful holiday.
It's a grey and quiet start here, yesterday was cold, there was a sharp east wind.
Not much planned for today.
Hope everyone is ok, take care folks.

Morning allWhat a lovely serene picture Allie. Glad the weather was good for your trip.Really misty this morning. Want to do some pressure washing of the patio today. Next door's gigantic pine trees leave a green tinge everywhere. DS brought up a couple of items yesterday that I said I'd sell for him on faceache so will do that today as well. Plenty of lamb left over from yesterday so think I will do a curry for tea.Have a good day all x11

Morning again - and welcome back to @AA - lovely photo. Apart from the past week it's been lovely up north.Yesterday was a fine day. Took ex for breakfast, it's the best way to make sure that he doesn't hang around overlong, after which he headed off on his travels. I went to the garage to fuel up my car, the very nice man there gave me a creme egg
so my day had two good starts to it. One the way home I got held up by a bunch of sheep out on their adventures. I seemed to have herded them up to my house, then a car coming the other way made them go back the other way, eventually the farmer appeared to gather them up. I did a small load in the washing machine and got it out on the line even though the wind was still quite sharp. The rest of my day was spent doing financial stuff, closing accounts with only small amounts in and moving things around. Of course, all my instructions won't actually happen until tomorrow.
An old friend of mine in Newcastle has his 80th birthday on Tuesday and I was all prepared. Card ready - tick. Present read - tick. However, I didn't post either of them. The card ended up in a pile of other papers so got forgot about. What a numpty! The good thing about my ex appearing is that he now has both and will drive past and drop off the card and gift tomorrow. Serendipity in action. And I'm mighty relieved. This morning it's my exercise class. The leader works for herself so is always around on bank holidays and, as most of the attendees are retired, we are all keen to keep going. On the way I have a big bag of recyclables to empty into the dumpster along with a couple of glass jars for the other dumpster. The egg lady hasn't been for a couple of weeks so I hope that she turns up today. The early morning pink sky has gone, as has the blue one. Now it's all grey with a slight promise of something better.Take care all, hugs all round.11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting us Gers. Allie, that is such a lovely photo, glad you had a good time and the weather was kind to you.
Dull and misty out with rain forecast, never mind, no plans to go out other than walking big dog. The kitchen sink is draining very slow it's got worse over the last week, so OH is going to look at it today. It's great that he can do most diy jobs, but I wont mention the mess, just clean up after him.
Gammon for dinner today, yesterday's lamb has been frozen for another few meals, we rarely have the same 2 days running, although it wouldn't bother me.
Enjoy Easter Monday, and hugs to all who need the. Take care.11 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, good you could put your ex to good use!
What a great photo Allie, glad you had a good time and the weather was good.
I've a small wash load out on the line as it's bright and sunny this morning with a slight breeze - hoping it will dry before the forecast rain arrives later this morning. Yesterday's bedding went straight back on the bed!
I went to friends last night for a lovely roast dinner and a glass of wine, good company and excellent food, I was stuffed when I got home.
Didn't manage to get to the allotment yesterday, spent far too long playing about with seedlings and cutting grass, really have to go today. May also visit a pal if they aren't busy. Apart from that not a lot planned - may iron some of the summer clothes that are in a box on top of the wardrobe.
Back to work for me tomorrow.
Have a good day, take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Welcome back ALLIE and what a lovely photo, your BFF is so lucky to have a gorgeous view like that.
After a pleasant sunny day yesterday we are back to the gloomy stuff today, with intermittent showers forecast. So just as soon as the potting on started yesterday it will probably now be at a standstill again. A good excuse really as lugging heavy pots around doesn't come easy these days. I could do with a smaller version of the trolly thing that TAFF has got. Must do an internet search today.
So today's jobs will be determined by the weather we get. If we get the showers it will be feet up watching snooker. It will be an easy meal day with plenty of yesterday's gammon joint left to transform into something.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. SO I hope you had a better night last night. I share your pain as I have those nights regularly. Someone is hiding the Sandman in their wardrobe again! Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all! Spent yesterday putting felt on the roof of the new shed with OH, took us a while between measuring and then fiddling about. It's on now but not totally secure, we're putting a bit of corrugated metal on top again because the shed isn't the greatest quality but you do live and learn so should we need another on in the future....Today I'm going to hobble to the allotment, my ankle is playing up but needs must, there are things to do. I've gone crazy and sowed a ton of seeds which all need somewhere to live next month. No eggs here, I don't do religious stuff and chocolate is chocolate [ which I'm also not terribly fond of]...Now if there were a cheese celebration...Forgot to take meat out of the freezer so no idea what todays supper will be.Allie, that's amazing, imagine waking up to that view every day! Glad you had a nice time...SO, you must be the Master of your own Chocolate Future
snoozer, nope, you're allowed to eat it all by yourself. As long as you're not hiding while doing it, it's fine
Gers, serendipitous indeed, and a clever way to get rid of an overlong stayer
TA, it's really useful for moving too heavy to carry things. Izzy, never even heard of that, will have to search it out to watch. I haven't got round to finishing Vera yet...Mehefin, you can go down a dark path if you want, it's normal not to be upbeat all the time, or even half the time....and sometimes you just have to..Just be you and don't tell yourself you have to be a certain way. Take care all, hope you've not got rain unless you want it

Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers - I had to laugh at your way of making sure your ex doesn't hang around for too long. Still, he came in useful as a delivery driver for the card and present you forgot to post.
@Allie - Lovely photo, how lucky is your BFF having a view like that.
It's a grey day today with light rain forecast from mid-morning until early evening, unlike yesterday when the sun eventually appeared at midday resulting in very pleasant Spring-like weather.
Yesterday I sent in my meter readings and was pleased to see gas usage is slowly coming down. It should be less still next month as I've turned off the upstairs radiators now, except for the bathroom one. I've started reading another book (Traitor's Gate by Jeffrey Archer) and will pass the last one on to DS next time he visits which may well be today. Another lazy day in store and it's a salad for tea; I'll make potato salad from yesterday's leftovers. After four days of doing not a lot, I'm almost looking forward to getting back to normal tomorrow!
Enjoy your day and take care. Commiserations to the sleepless - it's not me hogging the Sandman, honest!X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
