Linking Samsung Fit 3 to Motorola phone

I have just bought a brand new Fit 3 from Amazon, and I am having trouble linking it to my Motorola G73 phone.

I have installed the Samsung Wearable app, and successfully paired the Fit 3. The app said it wanted to install a driver, which it did from the Play store.

The next step is that apparently wants to link to a Samsung account, but I get the following error message:

This is, of course, using the Chrome browser on the phone.

Googling suggests that others have had the same problem, but there don't appear to be any solutions!  Googling suggests that asking customer service is a waste of time.

Apart from returning the useless watch to Amazon, do you lot have any suggestions?

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I don't know this issue but i would try pressing the three dots top right then select desktop mode from the menu then refresh the page. Put it back if it doesn't work.

Nice try, but it doesn't work unfortunately.

Part of the problem seems to have been that I had an AV installed on the phone. Disabling that allowed me to register with Samsung. But the next step, of setting up the watch just got into an endless loop. So, I got fed up, and Amazon are collecting it on Tuesday.
