The morning is clearing nicely, today may turn out fine. ☀️ Still chilly though. As the rain was pouring down for most of yesterday I didn't go out, simply pottered around or slothed. A bit of online browsing occupied me for a bit, happily I resisted buying anything. The cold wind sent me under my heated throw, it seems to get right through the stone walls and into my bones. Later on my routine was shattered by a phone call from my ex who asked if he could stay overnight. He was still in Newcastle and ready for a wee road trip. I couldn't really refuse so he arrived four hours later carrying a box of cornflakes and a bottle of milk. He's still asleep downstairs on the sofa bed. We'll probably have breakfast out somewhere before he heads off on his travels northward. He likes to camp (shudder) so is well equipped. I'll spend the rest of the day catching up on some TV, read the papers online and nibble a bit of chocolate as a nod to Easter Day.I'm hoping that everyone has some chocolate too - eggs or slabs or even a wee mini mars bar. Hugs to all.15

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
I dont know where yesterday went, I was busy doing something from the time I got up. DH had to go into town to collect something he'd ordered, so I tagged along just to get out. Surprisingly the roads were very quiet, but the shops were heaving.
Roast lamb for dinner. I will take the meat off and freeze it ready for future meals. Other than that I think it will be sloth Sunday.
Happy Easter Sunday to all, (and I did get an Easter egg Mr ND got me one to say thanks).12 -

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Yesterday was bitterly cold here but at least it wasn't raining. It's supposed to be warmer today with some sun this afternoon.
I stuck to my small shopping list yesterday but succumbed to 2 Hydrangea (one white, one pink) for big pots in the front garden. It's very bare since I had it all pebbled last autumn with the plan to have lots of pots around to brighten it up. I have finally made a start, which prompted me to order 2 more perennials off the 'net last night.. I need to empty the current big pots of their dead contents before I can plant anything though! DS made me some wood oblong planters for M Day but I have plans for geraniums in those when the time is right. I just need some co-operation from my ailing legs first.
I left the defrosted gammon joint in the sc overnight and it smelled lovely when I came downstairs. Still the veg to prep, with enough left to warm up tomorrow.
Have a good day folks if you can and fingers crossed for some nice weather. ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -

Morning all from sunny Mehefinland
Wind is wickedly cutting and cold even through the sunshine. Got a text earlier from someone wanting manure at the allotments. Have had it bagged up ready to go for a while but have been waiting for the green light to deliver. So that is a job for Wednesday morning sorted.
Had a lovely time with my 5yr old friend and his extended family yesterday evening. It was rather riotous and I had to leave to do the horses which meant I missed out on the karaoke ( that's a relief!!, but it was lovely to be in such a vibrant household. Brought it home to me a little just how hum drum my life has become at the moment. The hamster on the wheel of horse care and just surviving. Sorry - going down a dark path.
Might finish the kitchen ceiling today, will see how my shoulder is later, although when its nice weather it seems a shame to waste it indoors.
My friend Hele messaged late last night to say she has raised £50 on V for some of Dawn's clothes. Still more to go but trade has fallen off- perhaps its time to take them to the charity shop and let them do the work . Need to look through the last load to see what can go next - there are some items that are just too personal in the memory bank to let go yet.
Acquired 8 large terracotta pots on FB last weekend - so need to decide what I will do with them. Not quite big enough for the dahlias, but toying with planting veg instead. may make some up into herb gardens and sell them for the library funds. Need a think!
Well hope this weather holds so that the poodles can enjoy it too
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, enjoy your breakfast.
Yesterday was quite pleasant weatherwise, the sun even came out for a while in the afternoon. Lots done at allotment 1 and potted on some seedlings at home. Will do more today and visit allotment 2, also hoping to get the grass cut.
Bedding in the WM that can go out once it has finished then I'll do the towels when I've had a shower.
Friends have invited me for dinner later, they do a lovely roast!
Happy Easter and take care. XX13 -
Morning all and happy Easter. You may now eat all the chocolate!
I've been looking at my pots in the garden but it's too early for any planting up. I'll have a think about flowers for them.
DH and I had a lovely day in London yesterday, although the London Bridge Experience was very average and I wouldn't recommend it. We had coffee in the Southwark Cathedral cafe and lunch was wraps from Borough Market. We then visited the site of the Winchester Geese and did a bit of geocaching in the area before getting the train up to Green Park and visiting Fortnum & Mason, where DH treated himself to some more of their gorgeous chocolate covered ginger biscuits. Tea and cake at a nearby cafe and then we walked to Buckingham Palace and along to Westminster for the train back to London Bridge. The sunshine certainly helped make it a very enjoyable trip.
Today I might make some biscuits and DH is cooking the Sunday roast, although the joint, on further inspection, turned out to be beef, not lamb
Take care everyone14 -
Morning all, happy Easter Sunday. The sun is out but a bitter wind is blowing and it's still quite cold. I have the wm going with a clothes load which I'll hang out, then the spare bedding will get a turn. That's all the work I'm doing today except cooking a leg of lamb with all the trimmings. There's only 2 of us so there will be plenty of leftovers plus I'll put up a couple of dinners for Dad. Sadly no eggs for us but there are some sweeties leftover from when the DGC were here last week.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday, enjoy the day.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12
