I guess that its called the theme tune for Robinson Crusoe and would have be written for the film. Much in the same way that the music for Gladiator or Star Wars was written specifically for the films.
Made by Franco-London Films and filmed in black and white on location in the Canary Islands in 1964 and syndicated in America in the same year before airing in Britain in 1965 on BBC television commencing 19 October, The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe soon established itself in the UK as a vital part of children's early evening broadcasting. Especially remembered is the haunting theme tune and musical score which were the work of Robert Mellin and Gian-Piero Reverberi and have become forever etched into the consciousness of a generation of children and many modern day musicians, including 'The Art of Noise' have recreated it in their own styles

Yes I know what it is.
But not its name.
Sometimes I fall asleep with Radlo 3 playing.
Then in the middle of the night I wake up with that tune playing.

I was one of those children.
Seems a bit generic...

...the work of Robert Mellin and Gian-Piero Reverberi...I can go along with this. Those two dudes didn't bother to give it a fancy name.So my question doesn't really have an answer.I've heard the tune on Through the Night a few times.Different versions. Not heard them play The Art of Noise one yet.Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0
