Slightly confused on the results of comparing a deal.

Using moneysavingexpert cheap energy club.

Currently with British Gas, smart meters on prepayment mode

My current Electric
Yearly usage: 1600 kWh
Standing Charge: 51.79p per day
Unit Rate:
27.61p per kWh

My current Gas
Yearly usage: 1898 kWh
Standing Charge: 32.81p per day
Standing Charge: 7.12p per kWh

Result for a prepayment:

Breakdown

Electric
Standing Charge: 44.93p per day
Unit Rate: 25.43p per kWh

Gas
Standing Charge: 25.96p per day
Unit Rate: 6.58p per kWh

________________________________________________________________________

I look to change to Direct Debit, so I change my payment method to Direct Debit, keeping the usage the same-

British Gas tariffs based on the price cap tariff (prices are the same as Prepayment)

Electric
Standing Charge: 51.79p per day
Unit Rate: 27.61p per kWh

Gas
Standing Charge: 32.81p per day
Unit Rate: 7.12p per kWh

Results for Direct Debit:

Breakdown

Electric
Standing Charge: 44.93p per day
Unit Rate: 26.36p per kWh

Gas
Standing Charge: 25.96p per day
Unit Rate: 6.31p per kWh

Utily Warehouse is slighty higher than EDF for electric unit rate
Utily Warehouse is slighty lower than EDF for gas unit rate

Overall I'm saving 4% more on Utility Warehouse for Direct Debit - slighty confused as to why/how?
Any idea what I am missing?

I read this:

Point 3 https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/are-there-any-cheap-fixed-energy-deals-currently-worth-it/

If you find a fix for at least 7% less than the new (Apr to Jun) Price Cap, it's predicted you'll save over the year compared with staying on the Price Cap

I take it I have done from above.

    • Total £885.68 per year
    On the EDF PAYG deal:

I can't explain why the Cheap Energy Club gets different numbers, unless it's assuming that you'll drop off your current fix and onto the SVT when yor fix expires and is somehow pro-rata'ing your consumption for the next year?
And apologies for three short replies, it made it easier for me to keep track of what was what.

Simply Fixed Direct Jul26v7 -  Exit fee None

DD prices shown in quote/unit rates

If looking at DD fixed rates, what are B.G DD fixed rates ????
