Which trade would this be?

We've recently moved home. There's a small storage area in our living room which is plenty big enough inside to hold a dryer, and has a plug point.

However, the door to the storage area is too narrow for our dryer to fit through.

I want to get someone who can widen this door opening to the maximum possible, and install double doors instead of one (as there's an obstruction on one side which means a single door wouldn't open all the way).

The door is sitting in a stud wall as far as I can tell, no bricks.

Assuming that it is possible, what kind of trade would this fall under - ideally one trade that can do all of it.

And what might the work involve (just so I don't come across as completely ignorant when speaking to the tradesperson!)

Thanks!

    You need a carpenter.

And you've explained what you need perfectly.

We have something similar. Our carpenter fitted a pair of 15 inch doors which give good enough clearance for our washing machine and dryer stacked on top.

We had a similar problem where a full width door would have got in the way. Ours is to a pantry so we had doors to match the kitchen units.

KS, is there some means of ventilating the dryer?
Would an alternative solution be to buy a slimmer model that'll fit through the existing door?

We have a condensing dryer that collects water into a container in the machine. There's no need for any additional ventilation, no damp in our cupboard.

You could fit Louvre doors to keep the cupboard ventilated as long as noise would not be a issue.

Does a cupboard being built for a tumble dryer and washing machine need non-flammable walls (eg plasterboard)? This is in a flat.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
