Morning again - finally moved myself. The weather has been very murky here though it may just clear up. No Easter bonnets - only rain hats.Yesterday's focus was watching the vase of tulips start to droop in the sunshine (window faces due south) and then perk back up to vertical again when the sky clouded over. The day was very cold, it's the nippy wind which is still hanging around. I went out briefly for nothing much.Today is just as chilly and I'm not minded to go out. Perhaps in the afternoon if things brighten up. My nephew has uploaded some TV shows and films to his server which I can access so I may well indulge. I've sorted out them going back to Oz next Easter so feel good about it. In other news my cousin's daughter gave birth to a girl the other day (I've given up trying to work out the relationships), first girl amongst his five grandchildren. If you're walking, painting, gardening, footballing or simply slothing I wish you all well Hugs to the poorlies.8

Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting us off. The rain arrived yesterday teatime as promised, although it didn't amount to much more than a few light showers. It looks as if we're going to have a dry Bank Holiday weekend in my neck of the woods - today it's sunny intervals with a moderate breeze and tomorrow sunny intervals with a light breeze - unlike others who are going to get very wet. I'm not going anywhere but I feel sorry for those who are, I hope the wet weather (and traffic) doesn't spoil their plans.
I think "someone up there" must have been looking down on me favourably yesterday as everything went to plan. The bus was on time, I collected my item from Argos, went round the SM which was busy but not too bad, got everything on my list and, best of all, a lift home from DS. He rang me when I was halfway round the SM to let me know he was dropping in for a coffee and, when I told him where I was, he said he'd come and pick me up. Those are the kind of days I like!As well as the food shopping I spent my treat money and bought a bottle of EDT and a new handbag. The one I've been using has served me well as it's been in daily use since it was bought 24 years ago! I wonder how long the new one will last?
I'll be having a leisurely weekend, aka doing not a lot other than what takes my fancy. This morning I'll transfer handbag contents and have a session of de-bobbling clothes with the gadget I picked up from Argos whereas this afternoon is earmarked for baking a coffee cake and a DIY pedicure. Tea tonight is a Thai green chicken curry with plain boiled rice and a cheeky custard tart for afters.
@Rosy - I did that recently with three bras that were, shall we say, not very supportive.
@WL - Enjoy your trip to London.
@nanny - Well done on getting the meds, I hope your hands aren't as painful today.
@Izzy - I echo what @taff says, time for you to be less obliging!
@mehefin - Painting the kitchen ceiling is entertainment? In my book it's tantamount to punishment!
Have a lovely Easter weekend whatever you may or may not have planned. Take care, help yourself to a hug if that's what you need. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Morning all, it's bucketing down here again today and it feels so cold, 8 degrees ! I hope it's warmer and drier down south as DD and family are travelling to Cornwall for a holiday today.
After my day of sloth yesterday I'm hoping to be a bit more productive today, nothing too taxing though, only what my hands will allow. I need a freezer sort out as the messy elf has been again and I hope to find something to have for tea too.
Hope everyone has a good day whatever you have planned. Take care all

Morning all
Dry here for now but showers due later, I went out yesterday to swap the t-shirt in sainsbugs and nipped into the range where I bought quite a lot of plants, I then said to dd I need a pot for some of them to go on the garden table so we nipped into another garden centre where I bought more plants but no pot so we tried one more on the way home where I bought more plants but no pot 😂 came home and put all the plants on the table and sat down for a moment when the post lady came with more plants I had ordered 😂😂 dd thought I was quite mad, I am going to get out there today weather permitting and dig them all in, I think I just need some sweet peas now but will wait for a day when dd is not with me 😂
Roast lamb for dinner tonight I am going to slow cook it with garlic and redcurrant jelly, I shall do roasties and veg and hm gravy mum is coming up too so I got a roulade for pudding as she has a very sweet tooth.
I shall light the fire later as the evenings get chilly and mum really feels the cold and it’s nice and cosy with it on.
Have good days all and take care xx

@YorksLass
Definitely NOT entertainment but a necessary chore. I just wonder what plank though it was a good idea to artex the kitchen ceiling. It just sucks up the paint. About two thirds done this morning and my shoulder decided 'enough'. The weather had cleared up a bit by then so I was quite happy to leave the rest to another day.. Will sleep well tonight methinks!

@mehefin - Ah yes, the dreaded artex ceilings, not to mention wood chip covered walls - both the bane of my life! My wood chip is long gone but the living room still has artex on the ceiling, applied very badly at that. At my stage of life it will still be there for whoever moves in after I've gone.
Enjoy a good night's sleep.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.6
