Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's grey but dry here.
We went to Beamish Museum yesterday and had a lovely walk round. I was pleased to see there were lots of other visitors, it was busy. By 4 o'clock though it turned cold with a few drops of rain, so we headed home. A nice afternoon out.
I visited a friend last night for a natter, and put the world to rights as usual.
I think ds and dil are coming over today, I'm just wondering what's in the freezer for an easy lunch.
Camelot, glad you had a nice time with the bairn.
YorksLass I'm another one who has stopped thinking 'It'll be ok" when things don't fit, then they just hang in the wardobe, it's such a waste of money.
Rosyred, I've done that before with low tops, sewing a triangle of fabric in, it really works.
Remmie, good for your Dh bringing you a leg of lamb and some potatoes, better than a chocolate egg any day.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.11 -
Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers.
It's a bit grey/damp here atm, hopefully the weather will perk up.
Hope you all have a lovely Easter. x9 -
Morning all, thanks Gers.Dullish today, and off to DGS footie in half an hour as they're playing away. We had a nice day at the football, although DGD changed her seat so she could sit with a girl she used to be friendly with in her old football team but the dgc were on good form making us laugh on the way there and back.Met DB1 and family as usual. Came home and had the fish, nice and quick! Thanks Scarlet, yes I was pleased with how the sewing went, I found a little piece of black chiffony material that I doubled over and stitched in- the top is black and white so it's worked well.I feel much more comfortable wearing it now!No plans for later really, apart from curry. Hope everyone has a good day- take care.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9

Morning allLooks like a cloudy blustery day here today and maybe a bit of rain tooI've got a stand mixer with a big bowl and my sponge cakes don't seem to come out very well when I use this. I used my 40 odd year old hand mixer yesterday and what a difference! They rose beautifully. So do I go back to using this and have a modern mixer that can't do the job properly?Little and often in the garden seems to do the trick so will be out there again today doing some clearing of brambles and ivy in one corner of the garden.Burger and chips for tea.Have a good day all x9

Morning all. Bit gloomy here so far.
Yesterday we popped over to DD's with some food bits, including a Shepherd's Pie DH had made them for last night's dinner. He made us one as well and that did dinner for two nights, with added green veg. Picked up some more of the Lidl reduced veg - 8p for a bag of potatoes!
Today DH and I are off on the train to London, although we'll have to drive to Bedford station because of engineering works closing the Euston line. We plan to do 2 for 1 at The London Bridge Experience and then have a wander around.
Better get a move on. Happy Easter Saturday everyone.10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. A fine start here and the sun is trying to get up. Yesterday we finally got rain at last. Not complaining as the gardens were so in need of it.
Only plan for today is Supermarket Sweep with DS. Trainers already on for the sprint round. I don't need much at all but like to keep topped up just in case .I've just got another of the gammon joints I got for £2 out to defrost and will put in the sc overnight. Just one left out there now! I felt they were starting to breed. That'll keep me going over the Easter w/e.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -

" Rain, rain: go away" about sums it up in Mehefinland. I know we 'needed' it but I think we've had enough for now
Had a very unproductive day yesterday , just a pile of council stuff. It got so cold I put the heating on for a while in the morning. Probably just sitting at a laptop didn't help.
Today's entertainment . might paint the kitchen ceiling - it is crying out for it!, and then again I might not. Need to pop to my little 5yr old friend at some point with a small Easter egg ( he will get loads, I'm sure) and a few other bits and bobs need nsorting. Got a pile of ood pills and potions to take to the pharmacy except they only open Mon-Fri in my village. I could go to the next town but I don't need anything immediately so it can wait. Attended a local foodshare (not to be confused with a Foodbank) in the week - got an awful lot of stuff for my fiver - I hate seeing food going to waste so it was a good thing both ways. It takes place every fortnight so I'm booked in for the next one too.
hugs and spoons as always

Morning all! Went out for lunch with friedns yesterday..realised it's been at least 10 years since we've been doing that at the same place and the food is still the same and still really good. If it ain't boke etc...Someones coming to fetch a butchers trolley I have on fbmp today. Or at least I hope they do because even though I've said it's pending I've still had about 40 more messages saying can I have it, I can fetch it etc. But tha's anothr thing out of the future utility room and once I can put things in my new greenouse, the top and sink will be empty too
Not sure what I'm up to today, maybe a visit to the Hellmouth for some gubbins, maybe the allotment, the world is my shellfish...
Izzy, you're a do-er and people can sense that...Now you can be a rest-er and a do-er whatever you fancy-erChris, I've found similar with mine, I think it just over beats it and there's not enough air compared to a hand whisk. Well, have a good weekend all, remember to do nothing at least some of the time

Morning All
Managed to get washing nearly dry yesterday before the heavens opened. It's not raining at the moment but could do any time!
Got all my jobs done yesterday and had a lazy afternoon, picked up some knitting I had started ages ago (before the good weather took me to the garden!) so will probably do some more today if there's something good on the TV.
Back to the allotment this morning to put the pea frames up - just need the peas to grow a bit more and the frosts to pass before they can go in.
I'm with you Mehefin, the rain can stop now!
Hope you're healing well Gers.
Sounds like a good afternoon out Scarlet, I went to Beamish years ago and really enjoyed it.
I love places like that taff, where you know you're always going to get good food. Sadly those places seem to be disappearing.
Glad you got your meds sorted Nanny.
Enjoy London WL.
Right, I'm off to the shower. Have a good Easter Weekend. Take care. XX7
