Win 11 problems

My win 11 laptop is not showing the download folder (it has vanished) and the recycle bin is acting strangely too (it is not letting me recover anything)
Any ideas ?
I've done an AV scan - nothing found

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Re download folder, try manually navigating to c:\Users\yourusername\Downloads - does that exist? if you use Onedrive you might see a Onedrive folder as you navigate to the above, if so go in there and look for a Downloads folder.

I don't have Windows 11 but this site is all about Windows 11 and 10 and others

    It may help you.

Actually, that’s the right answer to virtually all the technical questions posted here. It has the advantage of not going off in a flame war with itself over something unrelated to the OP.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Done that - and have recreated the folder - however I am unable to point the downloads to the new folder
because I have no "Change where new content is saved".....under storage !!

Right Click on your new folder, choose Properties, click on Location and choose to Restore to Default. Then Apply and OK.
