Morning again, it's fine here.
Nothing much going on today, we might go to Beamish Museum, there's various Easter related activities going on.
We went to a nearby shopping centre yesterday, and I bought some lightweight summer trousers, I'm looking forward to wearing them. While we were out we lunched at a nice fish and chip restaurant near the shopping centre, very nice too.
Hope everyone is ok and manages to have a good day.
Take care folks.10 -
Morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet I’m cleaning this morning it’s a lady I go to once a month it’s dull and chilly the fire will be lit later I will go to the fish shop later there will be queues up the street but they are worth waiting for I’m biased as I worked their for over 15 years and I get wrong for standing in the queue they always say you should have come in the back way and we will sort you out straight away but I don’t like to I know how busy they are but I certainly don’t miss a Good Friday working there it always took you the rest of the weekend to recover . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning allGot my weekly shop out of the way yesterday so a slovenly morning this Good Friday! Will make a chocolate sponge later on and decorate it tomorrow. A bit dull out there this morning and according to my phone weather app the highest temperature today is going to feel like 11 degrees and it's still going to be a bit blustery. Might go out into the garden later will see how I feel. Chicken stir fry for dinner.Have a good day to you all and hugs for the poorlies x10

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope we can have some good weather so you can wear your new trousers.
Not looking too promising weather wise this morning although it's dry at the moment. We had heavy rain yesterday morning but it cleared up in the afternoon, good job as I had lots of towels to dry what with having the little one here and going swimming with her. She was as good as gold and enjoyed a craft session yesterday at the library and a mini egg hunt here - once she found them all I had to hide them again for a second go!
Hope your wound is healing Gers.
Glad Rob enjoyed swapping Easter Eggs Ruby, he seems to be flourishing.
Hope you got your meds sorted Nanny.
I'll visit the allotments this morning and see how everything is getting on in the greenhouse, hope the little tomato plants are ok as it was quite cold last night. Some shopping to do then a lazy day for me.
Have a Good Friday. Take care. XX8 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another dry day here. We are feeling a bit deprived of rain as everywhere needs a good drenching.
Not a lot going on here. Usual Friday Tidy to look forward to. Not! My Covid booster yesterday went well and no ill after effects this morning. It was very quiet and I was called in early. I wonder if a lot of people have given up bothering with them now.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning all and thank you @Scarlet for the start. Yesterday we had sunshine from the word go, but it could be in short supply today although it should be dry until showers arrive at teatime. Typical for Bank Holiday!
I didn't get out yesterday as I was waiting for my parcel to arrive. I'm keeping two of the three dresses I ordered but the third one will have to be returned; it's too big on the shoulders so doesn't hang right and the fabric isn't good quality. Gone are the days of me thinking it will be fine and then not wearing it. It's already parcelled up for return via the Post Office but that will have to wait until next week when they're open again. While I was waiting I had a trawl through the fridge and used up odds and ends to make a crustless quiche; instead of making one big one I used a muffin tray for mini ones, some for the freezer and some for the fridge.
Today I'll be picking up an item from Argos and then I'll pop into Sainsburys for eye drops plus a few other bits and bobs. I'll not be buying the cheap veg as I already have swede and carrots in the freezer and am not keen on parsnips; I might get potatoes though. I don't think I'll be tempted by the lamb/beef offers either. I don't have room for any in the freezer, plus I'm not much of a meat eater these days, apart from gammon that I already have, and prefer fish or chicken. Other than that, there's just the usual Friday admin stuff to do.
@nanny - I hope you got your script and DH's missing meds yesterday.
@topsy - Hope your wound check went well.
@Suffolksue - Hugs, I know what you mean, coming home to an empty house is the pits.
@Izzy - Enjoy your fish & chips. A good fish shop is hard to find (and we won't mention the price!).
It seems quiet on here this morning but I expect some are on holiday or preparing for the weekend. Whatever you're doing, enjoy your day and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Morning all from mehefinland
Just popped in to say 'hello' and I am still around , but not much happening. TA you can have some of my rain with pleasure!! Got caught in a terrific thunderstorm and downpour on the way up to the field on Wednesday and it went from full out concrete to swamp in a very short period. A substantial lot of puddles - but all gone again by the following morning. Grass has greened up and the ground is definitely softer. Of course my lovely two had to roll in the muddiest part - cue a blizzard of dried mud and hair when they came in later that day.
Cold and damp and generally miserable here this morning - and the forecast is not too brilliant either. Just have to find some indoor jobs lol.
Hugs and spoons as always. Don't pig out on chocolate - it makes you hyperactive (apparently! - can't say it works for me) Keep getting better poodles.

Morning all, our rain has stopped for a while.Yesterday turned out lovely & sunny and warmer than expected. My shopping trip with DGD was good - we had lunch first in her favourite cafe in town after dropping DGS off at his pals, and then proceeded to the new primarni, then bodyc@re - she got a lot of bits and pieces. I stopped off at next and got 3 tshirts for my hols too. On the way back she stopped to get her little brother some mini eggs for an egg hunt, saw her dad DS2 briefly as DH wanted to show him something work related, then dropped her at her mums. She is meant to be coming to the footie with us all today- we'll see if she does as she has some friends for a sleepover tonight .I got some reduced breaded fish at Sains. for the men, and some salmon for me for later.I want to get the sewing machine out now and do an alteration on a top I got a bit back, insert a bit of material as a cover up in the cleavage area
, lovely top, just a bit low for me now I'm advancing in years!
Hope you all have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)7 -
Hello all, I got our neds sorted yesterday although there was a huge queue in the chemist and consequently a long wait ! Normally it's very quiet so everyone must be getting ready for the Easter 2 day shutdown ( they're dispensing tomorrow on the local holiday rota.) I also got 2 loads done in the wm and then line dried but now it's raining today so the last load and the bedding from the spare beds will have to wait.
Both my hands are painful this morning so I'm having a day of sloth and I have a new book to read.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.

Morning all
Dry here but not sunny the air feels a bit cool so might light the fire this evening, I have a t-shirt to take back to sainsbugs so might do that today or tomorrow I don’t need any shopping so it will just be a quick visit.
Not sure about dinner tonight might get some salmon out but will see what we feel like later, I’m doing a roast lamb tomorrow instead of Sunday as dd is working a late Sunday so would miss it, I must phone mum and invite her along.
WM is doing its thing so I will hang that out once it’s done, will have a quick hoover through and a tidy this morning.
I have my tax return to do so may do that today to get it out of the way.
Have good days all and take care xx8
