British gas account problems no access

Hi wondering if this is a common problem. I logged into my account on 1st April and everything was fine and I had full access. Over a week ago I tried to get access to my British Gas account and when I sign in it says either account is closed or there is a problem with your switch. I have neither closed my account or switched. This is my new account that BG switched me over to in September/October 2024 when they changed over the systems. I have contacted them and was told they have switched my new account number to the old system which is why I cannot access it and it will take 5 days to sort it. No explaination as to why or how this has happened.
