Inpost have acquired Yodel

https://www.cityam.com/inpost-acquires-competitor-yodel-to-become-uks-third-largest-delivery-firm/

it will be interesting to see how this affects the eBay simple delivery as eBay hasn’t included either Yodel or Inpost ,and also the Vinted model where both are included. It will also be interesting to see if at some point soon, Inpost lockers will start accepting Yodel parcels which might mean a push from some sellers to get eBay to include Yodel in SD. Up until about 3 months ago, Inpost accepted Evri parcels, so it should be possible to integrate the two systems.

That's interesting I was wondering if Royal Mail would purchase In post.

PayPoint owns 5% that was probably a labels contract.

The new owner seems more interested in a varied portfolio of business interests rather than a logistics operation. Inpost has a growing logistics operation across Europe.

Yes I believe Yodel was bailed out in December by ian investor from abroad. So he's obviously just making a quick flip profit. No thought that people's lives are relying on all the uncertainty.

Inpost are a Polish firm and are growing exponentially. The article says they are looking to grow to deliver 300m parcels a year. Their target is 2bn parcels. It will be interesting to see how this market share gain will affect the likes of Evri

The only issue with massive growth for Inpost/Yodel is they may need to look closely at their locker model. If it assumed that shops currently taking Yodel will also take Inpost in future they may need to look at some label printing mechanism similar to that used by Evri, as many sellers, especially on Vinted are used to dropping things off with no labels at Inpost lockers, and they fill up quickly in some areas. For those that print labels, like me, the ability to drop Inpost at a shop counter like I currently do with Yodel would be a good thing, but I believe most Inpost literature markets itself to sellers as no label printing needed.
