How long does ESA last

Hi again, I posted back in October- November time that I was waiting for my ESA assessment, I eventually received it this week. I’m now just waiting to see what the outcome is, hopefully will be in my favour.
If all goes as expected and I continue on ESA does anyone know how long I can claim it for? As far as I’m aware I won’t be eligible for any other benefits due to funds I have.

If you are placed in WRAG which means work preparation activities required, claim will last for 12 months only. And only the basic pre assessment rate will continue to be paid.
If you are put into the Support Group, which means no requirement to prepare for work, then the claim can be for more than 12 months and an additional payment amount would be paid in addition to the basic pre assessment rate. You would stay in Support Group receiving ESA until there was a reassessment of work capability or until the claim was closed due to change of circumstances e.g. you started work and exceeded work hours/earnings thresholds. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.2
