Sick pay during redundancy notice period

If somebody qualifies for only statutory sick pay normally, is the same applicable during the redundancy notice period set by the employer or is the employee entitled to full normal pay.

Some mixed opinions in the workplace on the matter

So someone thinks that if they are off sick and only getting SSP that this will be boosted to full pay as soon as the employer makes them redundant?  I don't think that's the case and the SSP would continue.

BUT I also believe that just because someone is off sick that doesn't mean they aren't employed so that time would count towards their redundancy payout at the full rate.

So if Bob is off sick and getting SSP and on 1 April start the redundancy notice period of (say) 3 months then Bob would continue to get SSP only while off sick during that time.

And also if Bob started working for the company on 1 Jan 2020 and the redundancy notice period ends 30 June 2025 he would have service of 5.5 years and would be paid his redundancy based on his full salary not the SSP rate.

That makes sense, I did wonder how full payment for sickness would be allowed whilst usually only entitled to SSP

    Many thanks

The following is from citizens advice...the notice period for myself starts 1st May...my contract is the same as the statutory notice required (1 week for every year employed up to maximum of 12 years)

With that on mind I'm thinking full sick pay is payable within the 12 week notice period which I will be working under?

What do you mean by full sick pay?

Does your employer pay full pay  for a certain time or statutory sick, which you referred to in the first post?

Are you in receipt of any sick pay already?

Full sick pay as in full normal weekly wage. If I was off ill i'd only receive SSP.

No, not in receipt of SSP.

I'm still unclear on these rules.

I have been served my notice period of 12 weeks, I've been told that my statutory and contractual notice is the same (12 weeks)

According to the screenshot I posted I would receive full payment as if I was in work for any period of sickness?

If I was off work sick when not in my redundancy period I would have only received SSP
