Totally ignored by Ohme on failure of their charger

My Ohme charger that was installed around 5 months ago tripped halfway through a charge a few days ago. I thought nothing of it at the time but when I went to a new charge on Tue 1th April, it was showing as being offline. Further to that I had received a message from Ohme saying that the charger was offline and to do a reset to get it working.
I followed instructions but nothing worked. I had other requests for photo's, explanatione etc all of which have been sent. Since then over the course of 2 full days they haven't had the decency to come back to me. I called yesterday afternoon but the number I had was a different dept. They passed me to correct dept but the phone rang out as closing time was past.
I reiterated all my previous emails tody and again they haven't been back to me.
Here I am with a car that I can't charge except at the extortionate facilities around town.
Is there ny legal recourse to this. As far as I'm concerned they aren't providing the service I signed up for after a substantial payment for the device to be fitted.
Is a refund of the payment likely if this sin't sorted very quickly.

You need to contact your installer. It is their responsibility to fix, as you are under 6 months.

OHME do not install chargers. So you are looking at it from a warranty point of view, rather than the CR side where it is the installers responsibility.

No OHME will not refund any extra cost you incur.

Odds on this will be a circuit breaker. Many installers have been installing 32 Amp ones instead of 40Amp. As well as there was a batch that failed.

Unless the device is totally kaput you should still be able to charge manually. Loosing internet connectivity should only loos your smart features.

OHME uses a mobile SIM for connection. 👍

I am not sure why last September should be an issue, you have a 1 year warranty from the seller of the charger.

    Warranties do not cover everything.
So OP would need to know what the issue is 1st.
Which is why getting installer out is the best way forward.

No, from the seller you have your consumer rights. After six months the onus would be on the OP to show that the fault was inherent. The normal way to do that would be by an independent expert opinion. If that is the case the rights extend well beyond 1 year, although the seller could make a pro rata reduction to reflect the length of use the OP has had compared to its expected life.

Any manufacturer's warranty is over and above this but is strictly on the terms that were offered with the product.

Do you not also have a basic charge lead that will allow charging (albeit rather slower) from a normal 13 amp socket?
