Mobile plan price increase after 1 and a half months

Basically I signed up to a sim-only plan with EE on the 15th of February of this year. I've only just noticed on my bill today that as of April the price of my plan has increased by £1.50 per month.
Now I'm aware that companies tend to increase their prices every year, but I was not expecting - nor was I told - that my price would increase after just 1 and a half months. I was expecting any price rise to take effect next year, as I had only just signed up.
I accept that I will have agreed to annual price rises on my contract but, I was not told that the price rise would be taking effect as of April this year. If that point was made clearly to me ("as of April 2025 the price will increase by £1.50 and you will pay £12.50 per month") I would have held back on signing up and instead signed up during April.
I have raised a complaint with EE, who said they are going to look in to this but their position is that I have been told and have agreed to the annual price rises. They said they will listen to the original call to verify this. In the meantime I was wondering is it normal to be hit with a price rise after such a short period of time?

Is the deal still available in April0 -
You clearly didn't read what you signed up for.1

It will be in the written terms and conditions. You can't surely expect them to read every single one out on the phone call?0

What does your contract say?0

I did consider signing up for EE mobile earlier this year and I did see a notice that the price would rise in April. I ended up going with Talkmobile. Not as good as EE but so much cheaper0

EE were very clear to me when I returned to them in January that the prices rises would hit twice during the minimum term of 24 months, laid out clearly online when ordering.
They actually did the Ofcom-compliant version with the exact cost (which is no longer a % because ofcom clearly missed what the networks would obviously do under the new guidlines..1 -
EE publish the dates when the price will rise on the adverts and tariff choice page when you sign up.
They also remind you later as part of the important information you need to agree to.
I suppose there might have been several errors but that does seem unlikely0
