Is this a RTS meter? I don't think it is

E,ON have been sending me numerous messages to switch my RTS meter.

However a meter reader came round last week and told me mine wasn't a RTS meter.  I've told E.ON and sent them the attached photo but they still insist it is because it says Time Switch on the back board but I believe this is an old back board that was there before my current meter was installed in 2007.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No it is not RTS.  Nor is it E7. It is single rate.  They need to update their records.

It appears to be from 2007 (on meter and attached tag) so nearing 20 years old. So it will be due for replacement in the next two years anyway.

Humour them and get a new meter fitted.  Or ask for the £50 credit for fitting a smart meter that I took from them a few years back. ;)

It is a dual rate meter - thats why it says Rate1 N and Rate4 L on the front.

the fact that is only 4 ports - or in this case only using 4 ports - does not mean it isn't a dual rate meter.

Many modern E7 installs have no separate restricted feed.

It says more: Rate 1 N Reg 02 | Rate 4 L Reg 01, which I take to mean that register tier 02 records peak (Normal) usage, while tier 01 records offpeak (Low). This will have to reverse when the meter is exchanged for a smart one, and billing across the exchange will have to be scrutinized carefully to make sure they got it right.
